I am having writer's block for 2 days now.  Looking at photos and drafting my posts about last week's event...I am really at lost of words - proper ones off course.  So today, accepted the offer of my good friend Kaynisa to KKFM, being as her unofficial producer-PA-Manager and to add into my 'resume' - her photographer for one of her guest for the radio show.  (I'll blog about them in near time, ok).

Well, as planned after her show is over, we went to have our late lunch - the hungry bear will go for almost anything...and we stopped by at one of our usual makan spot and I ordered nasi lemak, Kaynisa also ordered the same.  The nasi lemak consists of fried anchovies, slices of cucumbers, half of an egg, peanuts, a dollop of sambal and a piece of fried chicken.

Okay..so the sambal is 'just okay' while the rest is good, nothing to shout about until I came to the fried chicken and very much to my horror....

Gosh...it's still uh...half cooked....!!!!!! =.=|||

Immediately, I called the waitress and pointed at that bloody chicken.  She took a glance at it, say 'Oh...okay." and then walked away!  =.=|||

I waited, hoping somebody...someone..the supervisor or anyone to come and ask me what is the matter, or anything they can assist me with.  None.  I waited for about 10 minutes, picked up the plate with that bloody chicken and hand it towards to a couple standing there (which, apparently looked different from the other waiter and waitresses.  So they could be the boss then.).  The couple looked at each other.  The guy hurriedly walked towards the kitchen, not wanting to see me!  So the lady in high heels has no choice but had to attend to me...who is still holding the plate and the bloody chicken in it.

She asked me if I wanted a replacement, in which I said no...but just appreciate that if someone actually attended to my complain without having me looking for them and that they should be careful in handling food next time.  She apologized and when I asked for my bill, they didn't charge me for the food.  =p

I know some of you might asking why I didn't reveal the place here.  It's because I think that shop deserve a second chance (some of the other food are nice) at least from me lah, and they acknowledged their mistake by apologizing (from the lady boss at least, can't expect much from the staff anyway) and they knew that they shouldn't charge me for the food that is...uh....under-cooked.

Owh well...I still will be visiting that place again, but not in this near time...for now. =p

I am safely arrived in Brunei.  =)

Yesterday, Leanna dragged me out as early as 4am to catch the sunrise at Mengkabong River.  I can't even remember how or when did I clean myself, get dressed and hopped into her car along with her boyfriend and 2 friends from West Malaysia...was still sleepy when we arrived nearly 6am - just in time when the sun rays peeking from the clouds.  Oh boy...it is quite an experience that I will never forget!

Leanna on the left...already adjusting her tripod, camera settings, ready to take photo when I am still blur...LOL!

We took photos from the tall bridge over looking the wide river below.
It was quiet, not many cars passing by, even during normal days. (Photo by Pjal)

Here's some of my shots taken in different time (merely minutes) -and in case you wondering, the mountain is Mount Kinabalu, the tallest mountain in South-East Asia...a mountain with legends and it always give me that mysterious feeling whenever I look at it...and majestic too!

After that, the place starts to get brighter and we walked down to the jetty to have a rest, enjoying the quiet, peaceful and serene place.  No wonder there's a lot of people came here to fish.  Anyway, as the place getting brighter, we decided to call it a day there and off to find some good food.

We'll definitely be back! ^_^V

Nonetheless, it is a beautiful Sunday indeed! =)
Yesterday afternoon, I found myself in the midst of the crowd in Palm Square, Centre Point to support Leanna for her very first little public display of her art work. In conjunction with the  Breast Cancer awareness program I guess, not sure who is the organiser though.  Suddenly my mind was blank from getting the details, don't ask me why, it's just 'one of those blur days' I think.  =.=|||

Anyway, while waiting we decided to chill out at Starbucks for some light refreshments.
I had the ice blended caramel thing, while Leanna had some mocha I guess (see, I told you that I am too blank to absorb the details!).  We shared a slice of tiramisu.  It has been quite sometime since I am having something sweet...
We got those pink leaflet from the Breast Cancer Society booth.  Got a pin at RM10 each.  We're also given a coupon where you can present at their panel clinics for one time breast examination (by lady doctors, guaranteed).

Leanna's work. (only the framed ones and the big one)
The rest belongs to someone else.  Didn't see the owner of the photos anyway.

The model holding her own photo (Sakuya).  ^_^V

Then there are some of the groups performing on stage with drums, ukelele...not bad I'll say.  Overall, the day ended just fine.  =)

Last weekend (1-2 October) is a tiring weekend for me.  Day time we're busy in the field for our Sabah Paintball League (Finale) tournament.  My good friend, Leanna was in town for the weekend to cover for the tournament and after the game on Saturday, we decided to go around KK to find some food and also, I need to clear my mind off from the stress and pressure in the field during the day before - so being with good friends, talking about anything but paintball at that moment is a temporary relief for me.

She checked into Hotel Capitol, and as usual, I tumpang-ed her la... =p  hehehehehe...after a nice hot shower, we went down and decided to do a little exploring by foot instead of driving, something we haven't done for so long.

Can you spot me? =p
We are walking passed the KK wet market, which is very busy during the day...

First stop...fried carrot cake underneath the Segama pedestrian bridge.  This uncle has been here for as long as I remember.
Place your order and he'll cook it for you, so you always have it nice and hot. =)

Carrot cake, chives, bean sprouts and egg...simple, yet very tasty!  =)

After that 'starter'...(3 of us - me, Leanna & her boyfriend Pjal shared one plate ok...so it's consider as starter! =p)  We walked passed the bridge and saw there's a place seems to be a food joint (I just noticed this..LOL).  Out of curiosity, we went to investigate...

Stalls offering these...fresh seafood (but the vegetable didn't look like it though, LOL).  But seriously, there are so many people, tourists and locals alike in every stalls.  We can't make our decision...

...and we still trying to decide which one...(photo taken by Pjal)

..we saw this guy seems like cooking squid non-stop, and we stopped in our tracks.
Ok!  This stall it is then! ^_^V

Honey squid (sotong masak madu) - RM12
I love this.  It's not too chewy and very generous with honey! =)
(Cleffairy will love this... =p)

Grilled fish (forgot what's the name of the fish) - RM15
Fresh fish + nice sambal = heavenly!

Leanna and I craving for some fresh clams.
We ordered this from another stall.  Clams soup with ginger.  RM5.
Very nice!

Greedy AngeLBeaR saw this in another stall while hunting for cockles.
It's called 'kanilau' in Filipino, almost similar to the KadazanDusun's 'Hinava',
fish pickled in lime juice.  You'll love this as your appetizer!  I got this much for RM2.

So...all and all for the feast above with rice, drinks - RM36 for 3 people.  After meal, I suggested to K-box in Centre Point, plus can walk to burn some fat that we just had mah...hehehehe....while walking towards Centre Point, we saw this woman:

She's selling a type of sweet cakes called 'penjaram/pinjaram'.
Not an easy task though, and it's kind of rare to see someone preparing it hot nowadays...

I am tempted to get some, but then again...I don't feel like it..so I didn't ask how much is it.
Perhaps someday then...the penjaram came in 2 colors - green (pandan) and the brown (should be the original one lah).  Made of flour and sugar...not sure if had other ingredients in it.

We went to K-Box, spent 2 hours singing away...and then it's time to go back.  Was raining heavily when we left Centre Point, so we had to get a taxi to go back to our hotel.  Not sure what time I dozed off, but what most importantly, sometimes spending time with good friends, good food and being happy even when you are tired and still need to wake up early the next day for another tiring day, it doesn't matter at all.  =)

I woke up this morning, feeling a little exhausted from last weekend's Sabah Paintball League (Finale) tournament.  Found my brother, Zach is at home so I asked him to go out to get some breakfast and then we went to Giant to get myself a tub of ice cream and a bottle of 100 plus, since I really feel like I wanted to replenish all the fluid, salt whatever that is in my body.  (Note: I had been drinking water non stop for two days more than eating...uhuhuhhu)

Anyway, after paying for the stuff, we went out to the parking lot and I saw a rubbish bin and emptied my pockets of tissue, candy wrapper...and when we reached home, I tried to open the 100plus bottle but it won't open!  So I asked Zach to open it for me, still the same.  =.=|||

Believe me, we tried whatever we could.  But it still won't open so we decided to return it to Giant (which is just less than 10 minutes drive from my home anyway) for a replacement but as I look for the receipt, you guess it...I already threw it in the rubbish bin along with the other stuff in my pocket earlier!  So, replacement is not possible without receipt...and my brother came up with this one solution:

Memang tak boleh dibuat menantu!  =.=|||
Good, well mannered ladies please don't do this...uhuhuhu...

Lesson Learnt: DO NOT THROW YOUR RECEIPT UNTIL YOU SURE YOU DON'T NEED IT.
