Meeting good friends, kind hospitality, nice food, nice environment....

Here's a preview of part of my activities in Pahang:

There are lots of photos to sort out...so hopefully this short clip will give you a little insight what I had seen and experienced ^_^V

Till then...enjoy!

Have a Blessed Christmas everyone...
May this season brings Joy, Love & Peace to you and your family.
God Bless.
In the midst of our excitement to celebrate Christmas...let us not forget to those who are unable to celebrate Christmas...the unfortunate ones, the poor, the homeless, those without a family to celebrate with.

Hope this song touches you.
One thing that I had to admit is that I can't bake and I don't like to bake.  I love those goodies - cakes of all kinds (especially chocolate!), cookies, buns...owh well...whenever I want to have some I could just hop to my favorite bakery and get it rather than making it myself, better still...if someone generous enough to get it for me!  Hehehe....

It's different from my sister Kirstin, though.  She is interested in baking and all the stuff that relates to it (I think she got it from my late Aunty Toni).   So recently she had been attending Nancy Lim's Baking Class and usually, she'll be bringing back some stuff - food off course to feed the hungry bear at home =p

This time, she bought back these (they are learning how to decorate cupcakes and here's what she has done):

Okay, I know it's not that pretty looking.  She is learning and I am sure that she will improve in future! ^_^V
A Facebook friend tagged me in this photo that she sometime ago.

This photo is taken when she was waiting for a relative outside the Queen Elizabeth Hospital ICU ward.  It was at 4am in the morning.  Then she spotted this man, covered this kitty with a piece of cloth before dozed off for a shut eye.

Mind you, this is not his cat.  The kitty is one of the strays that lives around the hospital area - and this man covered him so the kitty won't get cold, while he himself slept in bare feet and no blanket whatsoever around him.

There is nothing wrong to show a little kindness to God's creatures.

Christmas is all about love, kindness and hope.  May the simple gesture of this man remind us to help those in need and be kind.  =)
It's been 25 days since Comot had her kittens.  They are now can respond to human touch and meow loudly, begging to come out from the box, but we still not dare to let them out yet, though they seem able to walk and respond to calls.  Here are they:

Hitler

Juno

Miko

Oggy

Robin

I took their photos using my Canon 500D.  Still need lots of learning and practicing....and it's hard to take photos of these kittens cause they always move about! =p

It won't be long until the day they will start running and jumping around...I can't wait. =)
It's been a tiring weekend last week.  After months of planning, promoting and so on and finally....Operation Nexus has been successfully held on 05/12/2010 in Nexus Karambunai Lagoon Park.  This woodsball event is first time organized by Splatzone Proshop (KK Paintball Centre) which gathers paintball enthusiasts from Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Keningau, Labuan and even Brunei!

Players were divided into 2 groups - US Black Water and Kurdistan Workers Party - with a map that goes roughly like this:

For this time, I am testing out my new cam for the first time....

hahahaha....ok..this is something different from previous photos of me and paintball...
me without the black and white striped jersey... =p

Anyway, in case you wonder...here's some of the photos I took....and the fun that you have missed:

That's just a little sneek peek into the event last weekend....can view part of it via the slideshow below:

For the rest of the album, you may also visit here.

So...with the end of Operation Nexus...that marks the end of paintball season in year 2010 for Sabah....next year will be 2 more war games to be held...location?  Stay tune!  ^_^V
If you're on Facebook, you'll notice some of your friends changed their profile photos into various cartoon characters, from Mickey Mouse, Voltron, Transformers, Barbie, Smurf and many more with a status message: "Change your Facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood and invite your friends do the same.  Until Monday, Dec 6, there should be no human faces on Facebook, but an invasion of memories.  This is a campaign for children's right and violence against children.".

Well off course, not all will do it, but I notice there are some of my friends do so, including me! =p  At my age, I still watch cartoons.  Okay, so I admit it.  Hehehhe...and I changed my profile photo into....

Oggy from 'Oggy & The Cockroaches'!! ^_^V

Oggy is not a cartoon broadcast in my childhood (it's broadcasted somewhere in late 1999's or early 2000's I think), but it's one of my favorites.  Oggy is a kitty who's always getting bullied by 3 pesky cockroaches.  He got a friend, Jack who always protects him whenever he got bullied and a quiet but mean bulldog as a neighbor.

Oggy & The Cockroaches Theme Song

What I like about this cartoon is that it doesn't need much of a dialogue.  Just Oggy and his friend's (and enemies too) antiques really makes me laugh.  Here's a sample:

So...what's your favorite?

By just thinking of all the lists of cartoons that I watched throughout the years makes me smile.  I hope it does to you too.  Let's watch cartoon! =)

For love of stray dogs and cats, Ha Weijin from China has willingly give up her job, sold her house and car to take care of 1500 dogs and 200 cats.

To date, she has her own private animal centre, 10 workers to take care of dogs and 2 more to take care of the cats.  However, the Chinese goverment officials had since forced her shelter to close down as the land has been claimed and she had found a new place in Houyu village - and now all she needs is to figure out how to move the dogs and cats via four buses and had to clean the buses afterwards.

As for food, Ms. Han is luckily to received donations from the public to feed the animals, and she admits it is hard to keep the shelter going with her limited resources as there is no help from the local authorities.  However, that is not a reason for Ms. Han to stop from doing what she could for the dogs and cats in her care.

Wow....and comparing with what I did to the cats now, I am just a small pea comparing with her.  May God Bless you, Ms. Han for your kindness to His creations.

My name is Buyut.

A week ago, I was found running away from something scary one dark, rainy night.
As I was running, I disturbed one mean homeless dog (like me) from his sleep.
Almost got killed by the dog when suddenly a lady shouted and scared the doggy away.
I was scared at this fierce lady at first because she seems meaner than the doggy (or else, how come the doggy ran away from her?), but she assured me that she meant no harm to me.

Despite my horrible smell for living out of dumpster for quite some time, she picked me up and held me close, wrapped me in her raincoat and showed me to another guy who came with her.  I feel sorry for staining her nice shirt but she didn't mind.  They then took me to this warm place with other cats surrounding me with curious look on their faces.  They wanted to make friends with me, but I'm so scared of this new surroundings that even though I was placed in a cage to temporarily separate me from them, I tried to be as fierce as I could to tell them that I am not an easy bully target.  But the lady fierce lady understood, put some food and water in my cage and cover it with her raincoat so the other cats can't get a peek of me - and I can get some peace for a while, away from these curious cats and kittens.

The next day, another lady bring me to this place, where I saw lots of cats and dogs wailing in fear and pain.  Some looks happy though.  Nice uniformed ladies attended me, and a smiling lady in white robe examined me.  She said something about 'operation'...I wonder what is that.  They kept on mentioning some stuff about my ears.  I knew my ears is different from the other cats I saw last night. Mine is completely swollen at both ears from the inside...and I thought that was normal.

After the operation, they returned and bring me back to the same place last night.  Feels weird with stitches on my ears but they told me it's for my own good.  I like it here.  The other cats love to make friends with me, and the nice people that lives with them.  I wish other cats out there will be as lucky as I am.

Author's Note:
Buyut is the latest cat I rescued last week.  Found almost got mauled alive by a stray dog, he was found to have infections on both his ears - swollen badly that we had to get it operated to get all the puss out.  I wonder how much suffering this little one endure have I not found him sooner. - AngeLBeaR

This is Girl-Girl.  Couple weeks ago, I found her wandering aimlessly in front at the corridor beneath our proshop amidst the people walking passed by, ignoring her.  Lost and hungry, I just took her in.  Now, she's living happily in our proshop among 10 more other cats.

I wonder...how come people can simply ignore this cute little kitten?

Kaynisa had been telling me about this place not so long ago.  So, we decided to try out this place called Baba & Nyonya Recipes Curry House in Grand Millennium Plaza (or most commonly known as CKS Grand Millennium area - because it has a CKS (it's a hypermarket) there).  This small restaurant located at the same row as CKS - next to Krishna Curry House so you won't miss it.

The place is almost full when we arrived....lots of customers.
Food must be good, I hope.

Notice that sign?  'No Day Off'...like KFC kot...

My companion for dinner....Kaynisa.  Seriously checking out the menu.
With all the codes and names and numbers of dishes, we don't know what to choose!

If you can't decide what to pick from the menu....
you can just point any picture on the wall lah...senang...

...and this is the first thing you saw when you opened the menu....
confirm Halal one...so to all Muslim readers @ kaki makan out there, no worries ya...

So, I let the madam decide for us....

Spotted this kid at the next table...he was helping himself by scraping the sauce from the place clean.
Fuhyoo, finger licking good eh?
If a kid loves it that much, food should be good then =)

Alas...the food is here!

Kailan with oyster sauce.  Nice, but the kailan is a little bit overcooked.

Tomyam (Okay, this is more like Thai food already...hehehe!).
Instead of seafood, we changed it to chicken.  Quite a generous chicken pieces inside,
the broth a little bit salty and as we sipped it, there's pieces of chopped cili padi inside.
No wonder it's quite fiery!

Sweet and sour fish.  No wonder the kid loves it.  The sauce is nice, the fish is just right.
Kaynisa also agrees the same. ^_^V

Being the 2 Hungry Ghosts....we walloped it all.... =p

Total damage to our wallet?  RM48.85.  Price is rather unbelievable for the rice though.
RM2 for a bowl of rice is quite expensive owh (and the rice is quite starchy)....fish also quite pricey.
However, the portion of the food is okay...and maybe we might consider to return again to try out other dishes.  =)
