This is Kaamatan, everyone is welcomed
No matter where you are from, we say no problem
This is Kaamatan, everyone is welcomed
And if you try the tapai, you'll say aramai...tih!
Every year in the month of May
Sabah is the place to stay
Kadazandusun harvest festival
Spirit of 'bambarayon' the source of it all
From those days even until now
We will have the Sumazau
A dance as beautiful as an ancient song
To the beat of the instruments that we called gong
'Unduk Ngadau' crowns the beauty queen
To honor 'Huminodun' sacrificed in her teens
her beauty, grace, strength and bravery
Represents the people who plants the 'padi'
The popular theory of the origin of this festival said is to commemorating a great patriot poet, named Qu Yuan. A wise man who serves under the Emperor Huai during the Warring States (475 - 221BC), his fights against corruption among the court officials causes many officials plotted against him by exterted their evil influence to the Emperor, thus caused him dismissed from the court and exiled. During his exile, he travelled all around the country, taught and wrote about his ideas and his work has contributed as some of the most important ancient Chinese culture study to this very day. Soon afterwards, he learnt that his mother state, the Chu state was defeated by the Qin. He was so despaired that in his sadness he jumped into the Miluo River. His body was never found.
Legend says that when people learnt that he drowned, fishermen raced to the spot with their boats to find his body. After searching attempt was fruitless, people threw zongzi into the river to feed the fish so that it would not eat Qu Yuan's body and paddled the boats to scare the fish away from the spot where Qu Yuan jumped (This is said to be the origin of the dragon boat race).
Today, you will see the rice dumplings in different shape and sizes with various fillings such as groundnuts, meat, salted egg, beans, mushroom, etc. Rice dumplings and dragon boats are closely associated with the festival. But most importanly, it is to remind people of loyalty and commitment to the community, just like Qu Yuan once did.

Yummy....I am going to eat my "kocong" loh~~ hahahaha...you guys have a nice evening.

"Aiyah, going out with her again ah? Don't want-lah!"
"I don't like going out with him lah. Makes me so unhappy."
"For some unknown reason, I don't know why I don't like him/her."
"She/he is okay, but...I don't knowlah why I malas want to go out with him/her."
Have you ever feel negative or irritated when being around with some individuals? Or try to avoid from meeting with them? Try to think and refer to any of these toxic personalities...it might fit some of the puzzles that you haven't found the pieces yet.
Here's 8 TOXIC personalities that we should avoid, not just avoiding people that has any of these (if got someone with this 8 in 1 combination, jadi monster suda mangkali kan...hihihi) but becareful, we might has at least 1 of these toxic personalities hehehehe....let's see what it is:
MANIPULATIVE
These individuals are experts at manipulation tactics. Is a matter of fact, you may not even realize you have been manipulated until it is too late. These individuals figure out what your 'buttons' are, and push them to get what they want.
Why it's toxic: These people have a way of eating away at your belief system and self-esteem. They find ways to make you do things that you don't necessarily want to do and before you know it, you lose your sense of identity, your personal priorities and your ability to see the reality of the situation. The world all of a sudden becomes centered around their needs and their priorities.
NARCISSISTIC
These people have an extreme sense of self-importance and believe that the world revolves around them. They are often not as sly as the Manipulative Marys of the world, but instead, tend to be a bit overt about getting their needs met. You often want to say to them "It isn't always about you."
Why it's toxic: They are solely focused on their needs, leaving your needs in the dust. You are left disappointed and unfulfilled. Further, they zap your energy by getting you to focus so much on them, that you have nothing left for yourself.
DOWNERS
These people can't appreciate the positive in life. If you tell them that it is a beautiful day, they will tell you about the impending dreary forecast. If you tell them you aced a mid-term, they'll tell you about how difficult the final is going to be.
Why it's toxic: They take the joy out of everything. Your rosy outlook on life continues to get squashed with negativity. Before you know it, their negativity consumes you and you start looking at things with gray colored glasses yourself.
JUDGMENTAL
When you see things as cute and quirky, they see things as strange and unattractive. If you find people's unique perspectives refreshing, they find them 'wrong'. If you like someone's eclectic taste, they find it 'disturbing' or 'bad'.
Why it's toxic: Judgmental people are much like Debbie Downers. In a world where freedom rings, judgment is sooo over. If the world was a homogeneous place, life would be pretty boring. Spending a lot of time with these types can inadvertently convert you into a judgmental person as well.
DREAM KILLERS
Every time you have an idea, these people tell you why you can't do it. As you achieve, they try to pull you down. As you dream, they are the first to tell you it is impossible.
Why it's toxic: These people are stuck in what is instead of what could be. Further, these individuals eat away at your self-esteem and your belief in yourself. Progress and change can only occur from doing new things and innovating, dreaming the impossible and reaching for the stars.
INSINCERE
You never quite feel that these people are being sincere. You tell a funny story, they give you a polite laugh. You feel depressed and sad and they give you a 'there, there' type response. You tell them you are excited about something and you get a very ho-hum response.
Why it's toxic: People who aren't sincere or genuine build relationships on superficial criteria. This breeds shallow, meaningless relationships. When you are really in need of a friend, they won't be there. When you really need constructive criticism, they would rather tell you that you are great the way you are. When you need support, they would rather see you fail or make a fool of yourself.
DISRESPECTFUL
These people will say or do things at the most inappropriate times and in the most inappropriate ways. In essence, they are more subtle, grown up bullies. Maybe this person is a friend who you confided in and uses your secret against you. Maybe it is a family member who puts their busy-body nose into your affairs when it is none of their business. Or maybe, it is a colleague who says demeaning things to you.
Why it's toxic: These people have no sense of boundaries and don't respect your feelings or, for that matter, your privacy. These people will cause you to feel frustrated and disrespected.
NEVER ENOUGH
You can never give enough to these people to make them happy. They take you for granted and have unrealistic expectations of you. They find ways to continually fault you and never take responsibility for anything themselves.
Why it's toxic: You will spend so much time trying to please them, that you will end up losing yourself in the process. They will require all of your time and energy, leaving you worn out and your own needs sacrificed.
So what's the common thing about these personalities?
1) the more these people get away with their behavior, the more they will continue.
2) Unfortunately, most of these people don't see that what they do is wrong and as a result, talking to them about it will fall on deaf ears, leaving you wondering if you are the crazy one.
3) Most of these people get worse with age, making their impact on you stronger with time. (Power up ooo...hhihihihi)
Sad to say, it's hard to change them. So what can you do if you are not happy being with them? Just avoid if you can lah...and yeah, make sure all their words didn't get you as what they wanted you to be.
Is there any other personalities that you wanted to add?
6:04am - Selipar: herm...wat another KK open in the same year??.....aku suggest instead anjur benda yang sama dalam tahun yang sama juga ...ada baiknya organizer buat lah KKPL (Kota Kinabalu Paintball League) ala-ala MPOC ker My-NPL kah camtuh...at least semua team yang ada kat kk or memana jak sekitar sabah labuan or sarawak boleh juga join...bab kalu mo main mpoc or npl di kl sure tak semua ada enough funding ......bab kalu asyik buat penganjuran ala-ala feeder series bosan lah...mo lagi meriah gilirkan hak tuan rumah pengajuran liga nie apa macam???...bab aku tgok dah brapa kali buat KK open tapi mesej yang cuba mengenai sukan nie tak begitu berjaya...so why not organizer beralih pula menganjurkan KK LEAGUE SERIES.....Biarlah KK open acara sekali dlm setahun jangan lah diulang-ulang benda yang sama...cari kelainan sikit n kreatifkan lagi pengajuran supaya players tak cepat bosan nak bergiat dlm sports nie .....ini cuma cadangan ok kepada organizer incase kalu btul ada KKopen lagi
6:10am - Selipar: komen or cadangan ini teda niat or motif tuk menghentam, melagakan mana-mana pihak cuma satu cadangan bagi memeriah kan lagi suasana paintball tempatan.......so terpulanglah kepada organizer tuk memikir kan benda nie....We All Players & Team, Dreamin Our Very Own Local League........duit boleh dicari dimana-mana kalu berusaha n sanggup berdepan ngan risiko ok...so goodluck to all ballerz kat Sabah,Sarawak n Labuan..PAINTBALL CREATES UNITY AMONG US Caiyoooooooooooo
And someone replies:
5:36am - demampaintball: selipar kalau ada org nak buat ok, kalau dah yg lain tak mo anjur camana? yg kita nampak cuma kkpc saja buat benda ni. aku sendiri ada jumpa miguel time kk tourney hari tu dah cadang benda sama yg ko cakap. miguel sendiri bagitau yg dia org lebih berbesar hati kalau ada mana2 pihak yg boleh buat tournament supaya penganjuran dari orglain akan ada kelainan, staff dia pun boleh ikut tourney etc... tapi mana ada org yg buat lagi sampai sekarang? dan buat tourney bukan benda yg senang, sanggup ke tanggung rugi nak bayar tu ni , duit hadiah sewa sumer? buat event bukan semudah yg dilihat, dan bukannya money feeder macam sesetengah org nampak. xtion buat tourney tempat sendiri pun asyik komplen rugi jer, apakan lagi buat di field terbuka cam padang bandaran. sumer tu kena bayar. sbagai paintballer 4 life kita akan sokong mana2 pihak yg boleh anjur tourney. hadiah tak yah besar, asalkan dapat main di kk dan tak payah terbang jauh. team kami pun
dah habis byk duit utk byr tiket kapal
5:44am - demampaintball: dgn ekonomi tak baik skrg ni, lebih baik juga kalau ada beberapa tourney tempatan supaya kita dapat byk sparring dan sedia utk wca (utk sapa yg pegi)
6:08am - LipasKudung: Hah ngam jugak tu, kasi plak orang lain organise tourney. baru namanya UNITY kan kan kan
12:01pm - kkpc: we are always welcoming any party that want to organize paintball tourney in KK. bila lagi mau main pb n ndak payah susah2 pikir mau clean up field
hehehe
12:06pm - kkpc: after tourney - buka tiang, cuci bunker, pungut paintball (DBKK suruh), angkat barang bla bla bla.... gesh i wish i got doraemon to do some magic hahaha.
And this is what he/she replied back:
11:34pm - Selipar: pasal...mcm mana nak bersihkan padang or etc selepas tourney jangan lah jadikan isu utama or penghalang dalam sesuatu pengajuran pokoknya itu lha realiti n hakikat yang terpaksa di tanggung oleh pihak penganjuran n crew....manada pengajur lepas buat event duduk rileks mmg banyak kena buat that thing we all paham bab tuh pihak penganjur kena lah cari ikthiar or solution tuk handle masalah mcm nie dan bukan jadikan nya satu alasan tuk buat event dalam istilah "ASAL ADA BAH"....sebab tuh aku ckp duit boleh di cari dimana-mana tuk di jadikan funding bagi membiayai sebarang kos tambahan yang mungkin wujud, persatuan paintball kan ada...kementerian sukan kan ada, mmg di akui bukan senang nak dapatkan peruntukan untuk membiayai sesebuah event tapi kalu tak mencuba manakan nak dapat hasilnya kan...takkan bab cari peruntukan pun nak players or orang luar juga buat..pihak pengajur kena lah buat inisiatif sendiri mcm mana nak dapatkan sponsor or punca kewangan takbleh nak harap semua org kan
11:52pm - Selipar: tanyalah pengajur sukan seperti SUKMA, SUKAN SEA korang ingat negeri or negar yang menganjurkan tuh mendapat keuntungan berlipat kali ganda kah dalam sekelip mata..semua tuh rugi oiii duit rakyat apa lah semua habis digunakan tapi kalu benda tuh dipandang dari sudut positif , untuk long term keuntungan tuh akan muncul juga bukan hari nie anjur event end of event trus duit jatuh macam hujan....kena pelan-pelan lah tarik peminat baru n peserta baru tuk next event sure untung tuh akan datang juga tapi peminta or pengemar sukan nie yang baru takkan muncul kalau asyik buat benda yang sama jak sepanjang tahun....kk open yang lepas pun mmg tak sampai mesej or hala tuju nya ..sambutan dari penonton pun tak begitu memberangsangkan...mutu pengajuran pun blum lagi brapa ok ...tapi boleh diperbaiki lagi...pekara utama yang menjadi penghalang kepada sukan jenis tuk cepat berkembang seprti sukan lain sebabnya sebab terlalu memikirkan UNTUNG dan
KK League Series huh...wah....you think we never think of that ka? But hello...look at the reality here..around us! Whenever we wanted to do any event to the public, what is the feedback we got? "Expensive lah..." Don't say to play for tournament ok...even to play at the field on weekends also some people still complain! Just like any other people out there, you are comparing this sport with Futsal. Futsal is futsal, paintball is paintball...itu also tadak tau ka?
Now let me tell you how the event goes:
1 - We were notified on SHORT NOTICE by the people who co-organise with us. They gave us less than a month notice and said, "We want you to organise a tournament for us..bla bla bla bla...at this date, confirmed and I don't care how but I already agree to it now you guys had to do it!" So, existing teams mostly not ready to train, get funds for their tournament costs, etc. Short time notice to inform everyone, to promote and to persuade anyone to join the tournament. You heard me. PERSUADE.
Not to mention how hard it is to get sponsors for the prizes (To the paintballers who are not familiar with the Sabah paintball scene, yes, we even went to the extend of giving away few packets of rice to the winners because that's what the co-organiser can find). No kidding.
"Ask them to give you guys some time lah to organise!" Now let's see the situation here. Let's say it's an event that the City Hall wanted to have paintball in between. They got the funds, they got the date, they had brainstorm in the last minute what to put in between to draw public to their main event, they had their say. What can we do? Change the whole date? You tell them on behalf of us! Why don't you help us, find the channels to draw strings for us in order to make things a lot easier? Introduce some people who can we talk with for sponsorship?
2 - Manpower. Do you have any idea how hard it is when we requested 10 extra men from them and yet we were only given 2? Then on the last minute, 2 or 3 unable to show up because of various reasons. We got nets to set up, my technician was working from the technician tent into the field, air bunkers to set, my marshals were working before the event started until the end of the event and was forced to sleep at the event area to guard our bunkers and other stuff. Geez, even after using the field we were told to COLLECT ALL THE USED PAINTBALLS FROM THE FIELD! In our last tourney, my brother had to fork out a little sum of cash from his own pocket to hire the immigrant kids to collect it for us! We set up the field, in the end, we put it down and bundle everything up ourselves. You tired after tournament, what you think it makes us?
3 - Field marshals. Due to the short notice, my marshals was not able to get leave from work (most of them on shifts) or was outstation due to clashed dates. Some of my marshals wanted to be in the tournament too, so what can I do? Force them not to join? Not to mention the payout. To be honest with you, I DON'T GET ANY PAYMENTS from any tournaments held in KK so far. Do I complain? You think I like it to get sun burnt the whole day of tension, stress of events went wrong? You think the fee that you paid is including covering my fee huh?
4 - Registration fees and pallets. A paintballer who went to tournaments knew if the fees are reasonable or not. You play paintball, you know that you need to make some sacrifices on your pockets. You know that you need to pay registration fees and pallets. Why it was in USD in any international event, it's not our concern here in Sabah, for as far as I knew the registration fees we had given are so far went to as far as we can afford to lower it. Hey, even we don't earn any profits for ourselves we still had to pay other costs as well ok. That we need to put a hole in our pockets as well? Where you think the prize money comes from? Do you think we got to transfer our pallets coming in here for FREE? Hey, other teams can make it to find the resources to get sponsors, you are willing to fly across the sea to join tournaments, why it makes you hard to support your own local small tourneys like ours? Is it because it's no class ka? Ashamed?
5 - No participance from new teams. We are aware of it. But do look at the current paintball scene in Sabah. We are still new. You claimed to be one of the 'paintballers' so why won't you too, help us to create awareness to the public to promote this sport? Recommend them to play at your favorite paintball centre, tell them what you gain from this sport! Explain to them why you love it! So now it's entirely our 100% job to do this? We had done roadshows, and we really appreciate some teams made their own initiative to do paintball awareness to companies and private events. If they can do it, why don't YOU? They want to expand the sport as well, they had done their job, how about YOU?
6 - Public is unaware of the events. Most of our events were held in the City's Padang Merdeka. It's in the city area. We had publics watching the events as well. What you expect? Some 5000 spectators watching as if they are going for a football match in the stadium? Banners were hung at the vicinity where people can see it before event starts. You knew about it, you got Facebook, Friendster and other social networks, why don't you help us to spread the words as well? Does this has only to do with the organisers? If one is not interested with the sport, you expect them to stay there and watch until you went to the podium?
7 - Easy to say, NO MONEY, NO TALK. Unless some of you out there start to buy stuff in COD, no more hesitatingly paying up whenever we asked for you pending payment, no more avoiding us whenever my marketing staff called up asking for payment, no more stupid reasons by giving us bounced cheques...we are not hesitating of forking out to cover some of funds needed. You say that we should not say about UNTUNG/RUGI thingy...tapi sepa mau rugi balik-balik geng? If you look through the costings that we spent compared with the limited budgets we were given to do these things in the end it's NEGATIVE man...so, don't simply talk only when you don't know how hard it is for us to get these things running and done for. We ain't any rich tycoons, we had limited resources as well. You think money come from trees? You think all the money we earned just go to the bank and multiply in few months? We got bills to pay, we need to eat, we need to pay loans, gas, rental! Mau buat ala-ala My-NPL, MPOC? How many times in a year we had to suffer loses?
We never think of profits whenever we did any event. We went doing roadshows even drove as far as from KK to Tawau, only to find that a bunch of people just came and went away from us when they were wrongly informed by the organiser there that there will be a mini tournament like we did last time only to find that there is no such thing as 'tembak-tembak' then they walk away. Imagine how you felt driving for almost 12 hours only to find such response. We are there to create awareness but when it comes only 'tembak-tembak' in their minds, the rest doesn't matter to them anymore. How sad. What can we do with it? What can you do to help us out?
Come, bring your teams, your friends around and we had a GREAT discussion about this. Then you tell us what you want from us to do for you and what we want you to do to help us.
I will be more than happy if such league is held. 'KK Paintball League' sounds cool huh? We dreamt of it too. But if you only knew how to complain and see things from the outside rather than to help us out to identify the problems and offer us any suggestions to find solutions to our problem, financially, or helped us out to give awareness to people out there, then a dream is just a dream. So if you want people to see paintballers unite, this is your chance to help us in order to help you to achieve your dreams to see the sport grows in Sabah. For the teams that had been supporting us all along, I would say, thank you very much. I knew that we still had a long way to go. But if one selfish person started to voiced out only what 'he wants it to be' and just sit back and look 'what's happen, happen' it won't go on further. Sad.
Plus, if there is anyone who want to do it here, I would be grateful to let them organize it so that my crew can concentrate on playing paintball. You think they don't play paintball one ah?
It's not what the paintball field can do for you now; it's what YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR PAINTBALL SCENE in Sabah. Peace.
Geez...
=.=
Arggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The new night watchman at New York's Museum of Natural History finds that the job comes with more responsibility than he ever dreamed in this wild fantasy comedy directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Mickey Rooney, and Dick Van Dyke. Larry Daley (Stiller) is a kind-hearted dreamer who always knew that he was destined for greatness, he just never quite knew how. None of his ideas or inventions has panned out, so with a heavy heart, he takes a regular job as a lowly graveyard-shift security guard at the Museum of Natural History in order to provide a more stable life for himself and his ten-year-old son. His first night on the job, however, he finds that guardianship of the museum is far from stable -- at nightfall, an Egyptian spell brings the artifacts and wax figures to life!
If you love Night At The Museum 1...then this surely be yours to watch too! I really recommend this movie. =)
The city of Iksan was chosen by the Ministry of Gender Equality & Family installed a 'Female Only' parking spaces around its city area. The lines were painted pink and size more spacious than the standard ones whereas it was served to give aid to women drivers that's especially more 'unskilled' in parking their cars. More lights to be installed to create safer streets too.
According to Korea Beat, it sounded pretty sexist; but from the TV show I just watched, lots of ladies welcomed this new parking policy that's created for them, especially for pregnant women or women with kids.
I wonder if we needed such advantage to our ladies here. What do you think?

Her name was Mrs. Thompson.
And as she stood in front of her 5th grade
class on the very first day of school, she told
the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her
students and said that she loved them all the same. But that
was impossible, because there in the front row, slumped in
his seat, was a little boy named Teddy.
Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed
that he didn't play well with the other children, that his
clothes were messy and that he constantly needed a bath.
And Teddy could be unpleasant. It got to the point where
Mrs. Thompson would actually take delight in marking his
papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then putting
a big "F" at the top of his papers.
At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught,
she was required to review each child's past records
and she put Teddy's off until last.
However, when she reviewed his file,
she was in for a surprise.
Teddy's first grade teacher wrote,
"Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh.
He does his work neatly and has good
manners...he is a joy to be around."
His second grade teacher wrote,
"Teddy is an excellent student,
well-liked by his classmates, but he is troubled
because his mother has a terminal illness and life
at home must be a struggle."
His third grade teacher wrote,
"His mother's death has been hard on him.
He tries to do his best but his father doesn't
show much interest and his home life will soon affect
him if some steps aren't taken."
Teddy's fourth grade teacher wrote,
"Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school.
He doesn't have many friends and sometimes sleeps in class."
By now, Mrs. Thompson realized the problem and she was
ashamed of herself. She felt even worse when her students
brought her Christmas presents, wrapped in beautiful ribbons
and bright paper, except for Teddy's.
His present was clumsily wrapped in the heavy,
brown paper that he got from a grocery bag.
Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle
of the other presents. Some of the children started to
laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the
stones missing and a bottle that was one quarter full of perfume.
She stifled the children's laughter when she exclaimed
how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some
of the perfume on her wrist.
Teddy stayed after school that day just long
enough to say, "Mrs. Thompson, today you
smelled just like my Mom used to."
After the children left she cried for at least an hour.
On that very day, she quit teaching
reading, and writing, and arithmetic.
Instead, she began to teach children.
Mrs. Thompson paid particular attention to Teddy.
As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive.
The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded.
By the end of the year, Teddy had become one of the smartest
children in the the class and, despite her lie that she would love
all the children same, Teddy became one of her "teacher's pets."
A year later, she found a note under her door, from Teddy,
telling her that she was still the best teacher he
ever had in his whole life.
Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy.
He then wrote that he had finished high school,
second in his class, and she was still the best teacher
he ever had in his whole life.
Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while
things had been tough at times, he'd stayed in school,
had stuck with it, and would soon graduate from college
with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson that she was
still the best and favorite teacher he ever had in his whole life.
Then four more years passed and yet another letter came.
This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree,
he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she
was still the best and favorite teacher he ever had. But now
his name was a little longer. The letter was signed,
Theodore F. Stollard, M.D.
The story doesn't end there.
You see, there was yet another letter that spring.
Teddy said he'd met this girl and was going to be married.
He explained that his father had died a couple
of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might
agree to sit in the place at the wedding that was usually
reserved for the mother of the groom.
Of course, Mrs. Thompson, did. And guess what?
She wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing.
And she made sure she was wearing the perfume
that Teddy remembered his mother wearing on their last
Christmas together.
They hugged each other,
and Teddy whispered in Mrs. Thompson's ear,
"Thank you, Mrs. Thompson, for believing in me.
Thank you so much for making me feel important
and showing me that I could make
a difference."
Mrs. Thompson, with tears in her eyes, whispered back.
She said, "Teddy, you have it all wrong.
You were the one who taught me that I could make a difference.
I didn't know how to teach until I met you."

After doing lots of paperworks in English, today I had to do one proposal in Bahasa Melayu, because I was told "If you submit in English, they won't understand the thing that you tried to propose to them." (You guys knew whom I talked about.)
It didn't went that smoothly started this morning. It was really a hot day, no electricity for almost 3 hours (Sabah Everyday Sure Blackout mah...get used to it already), I am almost cooked, ran out of ideas and when the electricity finally back to normal, I am at lost on how to start my sentence...I still wondering how did I managed to pass for my Bahasa Melayu years ago..makes me feel really old...wanted to go back to school again.
I guess I better off to bed. Sheesh. =.=
But what would you feel if a noob that only knew the model of the camera and price tag but can't even tell what other good features that differentiate the so called 'expensive' camera than the 'cheap' ones said that on your face? I think that fella thinks that by using some super duper expensive camera it will produce photos like in the magazines...hello...have you heard of photoshop?
So you got a super duper equipment on your hands. It might make you look cool, more pro, yes it do gives out more than the average ones. ONLY FOR THOSE WHO REALLY KNEW HOW TO USE IT. So wearing having the latest loader on your marker makes you snap shot better, slide better? Like this ah...only those super duper rich people can be the best in the sports, the best photographers lor...What I am trying to tell here is that..there are some people who only wants to be 'in the crowd' among his/her peers without knowing what that actual thing is all about. So getting the 'more expensive' item is the 'highlight' to get in the crowd. Sorry lah...I didn't see it going anywhere.
Okay, so you got the bucks in your pockets. You got the right to say so lah, right? But let me share something on behalf of majority of people that doesn't agree with such statement. Expensive, doesn't mean that it gives out better than the low cost ones if you don't have the BASICS. Yeah, you read me - BASICS.
Give Ronaldo wear a pair of shoes worth RM100, I am sure he will still plays soccer well. Or Vanessa Mae an old violin, or Kenny G a cheap saxophone, they still can produce beautiful melodies from it. I even saw someone bragged about getting a new DM9 but the minute he steps inside the field to test his 'new marker' he got scolded because he took off his face mask!
So...correct me if I am wrong, but...for a noob that just knew to flaunt your pockets and gets the latest gadgets without knowing what it is for or how to use it...or even knew what the basics you must have...it just like a monkey that was given a piece of diamond.
Saddened owners was heartbreaking upon finding their beloved pets was caught and stuffed in the gunny sack. The animal was still alive, but traumatized. Hey people...imagine if it was you, or your kids was stuffed in that sack, tied up and thrown at the back of the lorry. What would you feel? Can't you at least be a little humane in handling these animals?
The reason that most people give is, that the dog was violent, threatened to bite...etc. Think for yourself lah. That dog was sleeping in front of the gate of his master, then you startled him from his slumber, with that malicious look on your face, it's his animal instinct to protect himself from getting harmed. If you suddenly got attacked by a stranger, you would bite, kick, yell, punch to protect yourself, right? What do you think he has teeth for?
"There has been complains that the dogs attacked the residents around the housing area." This is one common reason as well. Okay, bring the fella that has been bitten by the dog. Ask him to identify which dog that bit him. If that dog is a Chihuahua that happens playing in front of the house of his master, would that Chihuahua be the culprit? I was told even small puppies was caught and killed too!
If that dog happens to be someone's pet, fine the owner lah! Tell him not to let that dog roamed without supervision. We lived in housing areas ok. We can't let our dogs just to simply do his business around our yards and wash their dung to the clogged drains (yes, clogged drains that they had mislook because too busy hunting for dogs) or else there will be another complaints then more reason to kill our dogs.
Plus, look at the REAL reason why the dog bit those kids. My dogs has been licensed and stay at home. They are only allowed to leave the gate at night and will return themselves within an hour or so. They practically slept during the day, eat when its meal time. But there is these group of kids that just loves to irritate my dogs by purposely threw stones at him or making noises when they passed by. (I don't mean the illegal kids...so stop blaming the illegal immigrants in this case.) If I were the dog, I would held my revenge at those monkeys until I can dig my teeth into their limbs. Seriously.
I knew that most owners facing the same problem too. Some monkeys irritated the dog, one day...ops...the owner forgot to lock the gate, the same monkeys passes by and do his jester act, the dog got loose and NGAP! Someone was rushed to the hospital, wailing, crying "THAT DOG BIT ME!!!! WAAAAAAAHH WAAAAHHHH!!!" The next day, we saw in Hotline there is another complaint of residents being bitten by dog and therefore dogs must be killed or else they killed the humans.
Come on lah, we lived in a civilised world. So be civilised to the animals as well. If the dog happened to have an owner, give the owner a fine. Teach them how to take care of their animals. If the strays was a problem, put to sleep. Catch them and place in the cage, not in the gunny sack. I don't even dare to think what they did with the dogs in the sack...leave them to suffocate to death? Beat them until they stop breathing?
We still need our dogs to keep watch on our houses ok. Unless you guys wanted to take over the dog's job to keep a virgil watch 24-7 around our residential areas then I would not take dogs anymore.
We might don't have the facilities as a pound to care for the unwanted dogs. But they are God's creation too. God's creation also need to be respected. Owners, if you love your animal, take great care of them.
I didn't mention this in my blog because I thought Invert will be okay. Actually he was admitted to the vet since few days ago due to serious flu with Proto and Nanak. Nanak finally was allowed to discharged yesterday so I am positive that Invert will come home too...he doesn't.
The vet called this morning and informed that Invert had died. I am going to miss the small cat that came into the shop, the one that always sit underneath my chair when I am using the computer, the one that always irritated the other cats around...no more Invert jumping around or spot him sleeping on his favorite pillow. I am going to miss you, buddy. =(

Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he'd written on, and this is what she wrote:
For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:
No Charge
For all the nights that I've sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:
No Charge
For all the trying times, and all the tears that you've caused through the years:
No Charge
For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead:
No Charge
For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No Charge
Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge.
When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, "Mom, I sure do love you." And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: "PAID IN FULL".

"Is this the long way?" she asked. The guide said, "Yes, and the way is hard. You will be old before you reach the end of it. But the end will be better than the beginning."
But the young mother was happy, and she could not believe that anything could be better than these years.
So she played with her children, gathered flowers for them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams. As the sun shone on them, the young mother cried, "Nothing could ever be lovelier than this."
Then the night came ... and the storm ... and the path became dark. The children shook with fear and cold. The mother drew them close to her and covered them with her mantle.
The children said, "Mother, we are not afraid, for you are near. No harm can come to us."
Then morning came. There was a hill ahead, and the mother and her children climbed it and grew weary. She would frequently tell the children, "Keep your patience because we are almost there."
So the children continued to climb. When they reached the top, they said, "Mother, we would not have done it without you."
When the mother laid down at night, she looked up at the stars and thought, "This is a better day than the last, for my children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness. Yesterday I gave them courage. Today I have given them strength."
The next day, strange clouds appeared which darkened the earth ... clouds of war, hate, and evil. As the children groped and stumbled, the mother said, "Look up! Lift your eyes to the light!"
The children looked. They saw above the clouds, an everlasting glory, and it guided them beyond the darkness.
That night, the mother said, " This is the best day of all, for I have shown my children God."
The days went on, and the weeks, and the months, and the years. The mother grew old and she was little and bent over. But her children were tall and strong, and walked with courage.
When the way was rough, they lifted her, for she was as light as a feather. At last they came to the top of a hill. They could see a shining road with a golden gate that opened wide.
The mother said, "I have reached the end of my journey. I now know that the end is better than the beginning, for my children can walk alone, and their children after them."
The children said, "You will always walk with us, Mother, even when you have gone through the gates.
They stood and watched her as she went on alone. The gates closed after her. The children said, "We cannot see her, but she is still with us. A mother like ours is more than a memory. She is a living presence."
Our mother is always with us. She's the whisper of the leaves as we walk down the street. She's the smell of bleach in our freshly laundered socks. She's the cool hand on our brow when we're not feeling well.
Our Mother lives inside our laughter. She's crystallized in every tear drop we shed.
She's the place we came from ... our first home. She's the map we follow with every step we take.
She's our first love and our first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate us from her ...Not time ... not space ... not even death!

Labels: Encouragement, Family, Inspiration, Ode to the broken soul, Ramblings of the Bear 2 commentsWhen the Good Lord was creating mothers, He was into His sixth day of "overtime" when the angel appeared and said. "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
And God said, "Have you read the specs on this order?" She has to be completely washable, but not plastic. Have 180 moveable parts...all replaceable. Run on black coffee and leftovers. Have a lap that disappears when she stands up. A kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a disappointed love affair. And six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her head slowly and said. "Six pairs of hands.... no way."
"It's not the hands that are causing me problems," God remarked,
"it's the three pairs of eyes that mothers have to have."
"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel. God nodded.
"One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks, 'What are you kids doing in there?' when she already knows. Another here in the back of her head that sees what she shouldn't but what she has to know, and of course the ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs up and say. 'I understand and I love you' without so much as uttering a word."
"God," said the angel touching his sleeve gently, "Get some rest tomorrow...."
"I can't," said God, "I'm so close to creating something so close to myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick...can feed a family of six on one pound of hamburger...and can get a nine year old to stand under a shower."
The angel circled the model of a mother very slowly. "It's too soft," she sighed.
"But tough!" said God excitedly. "You can imagine what this mother can do or endure."
"Can it think?"
"Not only can it think, but it can reason and compromise," said the Creator.
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek.
"There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told You that You were trying to put too much into this model."
"It's not a leak," said the Lord, "It's a tear."
"What's it for?"
"It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness, and pride."
"You are a genius, " said the angel.
Somberly, God said, "I didn't put it there."

TO MEET A CHALLENGE... "What were you thinking? Answer me when I talk to you...Don't talk back to me!"
HUMOR... "When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."
BECOME AN ADULT... "If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up.
GENETICS... "You are just like your father!"
ROOTS... "Do you think you were born in a barn?"
WISDOM of AGE... "When you get to be my age, you will understand."
ANTICIPATION... "Just wait until your father gets home."
RECEIVING... "You are going to get it when we get home"
and my all time favorite thing:
JUSTICE... "One day you will have kids, and I hope they turn out just like YOU..then you'll see what it's like."
One man said to everyone, "I'll stay! God will save me!"
The flood got higher and a boat came and the man in it said "Come on mate, get in!"
"No" replied the man. "God will save me!"
The flood got very high now and the man had to stand on the roof of his house.
A helicopter soon came and the man offered him help.
"No, God will save me!" he said.
Eventually he died by drowning.
He got by the gates of heaven and he said to God "Why didn't you save me?"
God replied, "For goodness sake! I sent a boat and a helicopter. What more do you want!"
Note: Everytime when we asked God to help us, He did send it to us...if only we realised that it came from the smallest things that we always took for granted. Have a blessed Sunday everyone! =)
