As I recall the months that I went through, there are quite some good and bad things happen all together. The worst I guess is the day I broke up with my ex couple days after my birthday - it was a bitter breakup, and full of confusion and heartaches. Also, the lost of Ollie Boy, my pet cat...how sad... =(
But...as they said, there's always silver linings behind the dark clouds. I think there are several good and memorable things that happened...
The weddings of my brother, cousin Emily and cousin Nazarius that followed one another. I think that's one of the biggest thing that I ever did by organizing my brother's wedding that at first gave me 3 months of depression and stress.
Followed cousin Oswald's family for a scuba dive trip in Mamutik Island, trip to Johor Bahru and meeting Elizabeth and her lovely family before she flew to Perth. My blog was published in Breeze Magazine, got my Level 1 - MPRO (Malaysia Paintball Referee Organisation) certificate to enable me to qualify to ref for My-NPL in future...part of my 2010 plan, that is. Completed the Euro-Ref course and able to marshal again in Paintball World Cup Asia 2009 in Bukit Jalil...it wasn't that bad right?
Also...that special someone that had walked into my life...you know who you are. ^^ Thank you for being there in any means that you could to make me feel your presence, when I needed you the most. *hugs*
Thank you to everyone who had been supporting this blog of mine, for your comments, concerns and so many things that reminded me that I am not alone during the worst times of my life.
So, good bye 2009...and hello 2010. Happy New Year to everyone, may the New Year brings you health, happiness and more love, as well as success. Till then, happy celebrating, don't drink and drive and hope it will be the most memorable one for you all.
Yours truly,
AngeLBeaR
While everyone busy blogging about "Avatar" or perhaps "Holmes" or any other much more 'famous', worldwide known films that has been released recently, I decided not to blog about it, for I knew, my review will be the same as those you read in others' blogs.
Now, why "Muallaf (The Convert)" you may ask?
I was wondering myself the question too, and my heart almost sank when Tracy and I stared at the screen at the counter to buy our tickets and found that we're both the 7th and 8th customer that purchased the tickets for the movie. Not so much to expect on the late Yasmin Ahmad's movie, huh?
Yes, this is one of the controversial movie that was supposed to release much more earlier (was already released in Singapore in year 2008, and re-released again early 2009 due to much demand). This long awaited movie in this country does not failed me, very much to the late Yasmin's trademark that has elements of our everyday living.
The main characters of the movie, A Catholic school teacher, Brian Goh (Brian Yap) who copes with his traumatized childhood, and the constant begs from his mother who wishes him to come home; 2 muslim siblings, Rohani (Sharifah Armani) & Rohana (Sharifah Aleysha) that was forced to stay in an abandoned bungalow, running away from an abusive wealthy father, while grieving for the demise of their beloved mother.
Brian, the ever skeptical man that doubts his faith, find it interesting to get to know the 2 sisters who has this peculiar habit of reciting passages from the Holy Quran, Bible and Tao Te Ching. Their friendship became closer, that they willingly to share the pain and hardship that they went through. 3 souls - with fate met them together, finding comfort in each other through friendship, love and trust.
As good as it goes, the movie also has some funny scenes that would cheer your soul as you went through. As said, very much to the late Yasmin's touch. These elements - religion, respect, love, friendship and family make this movie a heartfelt one, and you can only reach the message if you watch it with an open mind.
With the title, you would expect any so called 'conversion' of religion? Then you must be narrow minded. 'Conversion' came in more perspective than what we see in front of us. I am sure what the late Yasmin wants is to see the real message behind the movie and it's title. It's a conversion from an old life to the new one.
With forgiveness, you can live a good and peaceful life.
With forgiveness, you can let go the grudge of the past and reconcile with those who hurt you.
So what's in a title when you haven't see the real message behind it? Watch, and you will know.
Thank you Yasmin...for this farewell gift that you had given to us. There will be none like you, and we sure going to miss you and your great works, a lot. Rest in Peace.

Have a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. May this season brings joy, peace and hope to all. For those who aren't celebrating, happy holidays to you all - don't drink and drive and be safe! ^^
Best Wishes,

Chippenham George worked for the Post Office and his job was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses. One day just before Christmas, a letter landed on his desk simply addressed in shaky handwriting: 'To God'. With no other clue on the envelope, George opened the letter and read:
Dear God,
I am an 93 year old widow living on the State pension. Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had £100 in it, which was all the money I had in the world and no pension due until after Christmas. Next week is Christmas and I had invited two of my friends over for Christmas lunch. Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with. I have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope. God; can you please help me?
Chippenham George was really touched, and being kind hearted, he put a copy of the letter up on the staff notice board at the main Fareham sorting office where he worked. The letter touched the other postmen and they all dug into their pockets and had a whip round. Between them they raised £95. [$170 USD] Using an officially franked Post Office envelope, they sent the cash on to the old lady, and for the rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of the nice thing they had done.
Christmas came and went. A few days later, another letter simply addressed to 'God' landed in the Sorting Office. Many of the postmen gathered around while George opened the letter. It read,Dear God,
How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me? Because of your generosity, I was able to provide a lovely luncheon for my friends. We had a very nice day, and I told my friends of your wonderful gift - in fact we haven't gotten over it and even Father John, our parish priest, is beside himself with joy. By the way, there was £5 [$10 USD] missing. I think it must have been those thieving fellows at the Post Office.
Have a nice day everyone! ^^
Some people say, "put customer service first...the customer is always right..." and so on. But what if this particular people are those who are the ones that would cause more damage than good to the business? Did you think the term 'customer is always right' would apply?
And yesterday late afternoon, is the day where everyone - me and my crews totally lost our cool. Sorry, we love to have you guys along but then again, if your existence is merely to cause more trouble than good, we had to say good bye to you.
Paintball, as you guys knew is a high disciplined sport. From the beginning before a customer were allowed to touch the equipments as such, they will be given a waiver form to sign, and safety briefing was given to ensure everyone follows the basic rules and regulations, so that everyone would play safe - to ensure the safety of themselves and others while playing. Why would you think paintball is one of the safest sport?
So it happened I met this newcomers consists of about 26 people all together. Even from the beginning of the safety briefing, I already got sinister remarks and some even joked about the safety rules and regulations that I briefed and explained to them.
Okay, so I had to repeat each safety rules more than twice to let them know that I meant business. It was even translated in 2 languages, so it shouldn't be any problem, right? Wrong. Here comes the problem started.
So, Game On! And the girl that got hit first, ran out from the bunker, run through the firing line and took off her mask! WHOAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! Lucky though the other field refs are nearby and covered her just in time while the rest shouted and yelled her to put on her mask. I ran up to her and giving her a warning not to take off her mask. She put a sly look on me, and rolled her eyes. What kind of attitude is that?!? Perhaps, traumatized being scolded at, the little missy decided not to play the next round and after. Well, I did warned everyone what will happen if they took off their mask, am I?
The rounds after, things gotten worst. Especially this one particular fella. It took 2 refs, to stop him at the exit/entrance area to get him put on the barrel socks and safety pin on before allowing him to leave the field. At the same time, his other friends took off masks in the field and having good time, ignoring the scoldings from field refs. We had to tackle each and every one of them - game had to be stopped, immediately!
One of the field refs was a victim of the noobs. That's it, no more paintball for you! Get out from the field, at the instant! Some were a little cunning from the rest. He put on barrel socks and safety pin was on in front of the ref at the exit, then went out releasing the switch and shooting with the barrel socks on! Was outside the field at the moment, gave him my last warning. Do that again, you'll be ban from playing. One trying to slip in his underage son to play, though the son was not in the playing list. Sorry, your son is obviously different from the other players so it is VERY OBVIOUS that I can see an 'illegal' player into the field.
Then, the tension reached to the limit, when there's a shooting sound came just behind me. To our horror, this fella shoots freely outside the field! Once again, one guy tackled, marker took from his hands and game was stopped, for good. The fella just simply got up, make the 'I don't care' look and went to their tent. So he is banned for good. Sorry to say, I will never welcome him to the field, ever.
I spoke to the group leader and explained why we had to raise our voices, why we had to scold, why we were upset of these things happened - it might be a no biggie for them..."Nothing happen mah..." right? WRONG!!! Before something happen, we are preventing it from happening, and it shouldn't be happening!!
So, if any of you thinks that we are being overreact on why playing paintball is so painstakingly needed to follow rules, why need safety briefing, so leceh one, why scold people who 'only took off their mask once'; why even went to extend to ban people from coming, don't want to make business, ah? And so many more 'why this and that' that you cannot accept - my advice is, if you can't follow the safety rules when playing paintball, you should opt to play something else. I rather not having these people coming than risking the safety of myself, themselves, others and putting the whole community of paintballers and operators around the country at risk of losing opportunity to play paintball or running their business and ours as well.
Now, is the term 'Customer is Always Right' applies? No, in paintball field, it will always be "Marshal is Always Right" Zone. Follow the rules, and you'll be just fine.
Show respect to the other players and refs in the field, or you'll be expelled from the field, disrespectfully.
Bobby was getting cold sitting out in his back yard in the snow. Bobby didn't wear boots; he didn't like them and anyway he didn't own any. The thin sneakers he wore had a few holes in them and they did a poor job of keeping out the cold. Bobby had been in his backyard for about an hour already. And, try as he might, he could not come up with an idea for his mother's Christmas gift. He shook his head as he thought, "This is useless, even if I do come up with an idea, I don't have any money to spend." Ever since his father had passed away three years ago, the family of five had struggled. It wasn't because his mother didn't care, or try, there just never seemed to be enough. She worked nights at the hospital, but the small wage that she was earning could only be stretched so far. What the family lacked in money and material things, they more than made up for in love and family unity. Bobby had two older and one younger sister, who ran the household in their mother's absence. All three of his sisters had already made beautiful gifts for their mother. Somehow it just wasn't fair. Here it was Christmas Eve already, and he had nothing. Wiping a tear from his eye, Bobby kicked the snow and started to walk down to the street where the shops and stores were. It wasn't easy being six without a father, especially when he needed a man to talk to. Bobby walked from shop to shop, looking into each decorated window. Everything seemed so beautiful and so out of reach. It was starting to get dark and Bobby reluctantly turned to walk home when suddenly his eyes caught the glimmer of the setting sun's rays reflecting off of something along the curb. He reached down and discovered a shiny dime. Never before has anyone felt so wealthy as Bobby felt at that moment. As he held his new found treasure, a warmth spread throughout his entire body and he walked into the first store he saw. His excitement quickly turned cold when salesperson after salesperson told him that he could not buy anything with only a dime. He saw a flower shop and went inside to wait in line. When the shop owner asked if he could help him, Bobby presented the dime and asked if he could buy one flower for his mother's Christmas gift. The shop owner looked at Bobby and his ten cent offering. Then he put his hand on Bobby's shoulder and said to him, "You just wait here and I'll see what I can do for you." As Bobby waited, he looked at the beautiful flowers and even though he was a boy, he could see why mothers and girls liked flowers. The sound of the door closing as the last customer left, jolted Bobby back to reality. All alone in the shop, Bobby began to feel alone and afraid. Suddenly the shop owner came out and moved to the counter. There, before Bobby's eyes, lay twelve long stem, red roses, with leaves of green and tiny white flowers all tied together with a big silver bow. Bobby's heart sank as the owner picked them up and placed them gently into a long white box. "That will be ten cents young man." the shop owner said reaching out his hand for the dime. Slowly, Bobby moved his hand to give the man his dime. Could this be true? No one else would give him a thing for his dime! Sensing the boy's reluctance, the shop owner added, "I just happened to have some roses on sale for ten cents a dozen. Would you like them?" This time Bobby did not hesitate, and when the man placed the long box into his hands, he knew it was true. Walking out the door that the owner was holding for Bobby, he heard the shop keeper say, "Merry Christmas, son." As he returned inside, the shop keepers wife walked out. "Who were you talking to back there and where are the roses you were fixing?" Staring out the window, and blinking the tears from his own eyes, he replied, "A strange thing happened to me this morning. While I was setting up things to open the shop, I thought I heard a voice telling me to set aside a dozen of my best roses for a special gift. I wasn't sure at the time whether I had lost my mind or what, but I set them aside anyway. Then just a few minutes ago, a little boy came into the shop and wanted to buy a flower for his mother with one small dime. "When I looked at him, I saw myself, many years ago. I too, was a poor boy with nothing to buy my mother a Christmas gift. A bearded man, whom I never knew, stopped me on the street and told me that he wanted to give me ten dollars. "When I saw that little boy tonight, I knew who that voice was, and I put together a dozen of my very best roses." The shop owner and his wife hugged each other tightly, and as they stepped out into the bitter cold air, they somehow didn't feel cold at all. |

Labels: Festivals and Celebrations, People and Places, Ramblings of the Bear 8 commentsConclusion: AngeLBeaR is one "selfish, show-off, arrogant, cocky, attention-seeker, little b*tch and a brat". (wah....I never did confess I am an angel, did I?)
My...that sure does give a kick start for me in this morning, especially when now I am having a slight flu, runny nose, little sore throat and might caught fever if not today or tomorrow. Then again, it really cracks me up. Someone doesn't read my "About Me" section before reading my blogs or when visiting my Facebook profile. (Owh yes, you sure can read this because you are in my Facebook profile, and out of sympathy for you, I still and will keep you in my Facebook list since I got nothing against you, and you can still enjoy to see my latest blog post updates and albums hehehehehe)
Owh you hater...if you dislike my blog and Facebook so much, you can always delete it, and refrain from visiting it. So now, just because you alone don't like it, do I have to close it? Even if the whole world hates me for it, my blog is my blog. It's my own Facebook profile so I don't need your permission or opinion on what to publish or upload, as long as I didn't violating the law. So, what's your problem anyway?
In case you haven't read thoroughly before visiting my Facebook or blog page, here's for you to read:
My writings reflects the person I am. A great foodie, passionate about paintball, loves being around her friends and family. Has a very small social circle, somewhat a little bit nuts - a person that people can love or hate at the same time. I am me. I can't and won't be someone just to please that somebody and make another unhappy about it. Hate me or love me, you pick.
Sincerely yours,
(The selfish, show-off, arrogant, cocky, attention-seeker, little b*tch and a brat)

Take an example during the recent happening to our proshop yesterday. Among all the people who concern about our loss, there are still some irritating people called up or send message asking "What happened, who's there at that time? Where is everyone? Why it happened? Didn't you do this? Didn't you do that?"
Look, I know some of you concern enough, but please...just a simple "sorry to hear that." or anything equivalent to show that you really care is good enough. We, in this case, me myself, had already loaded with headaches and I don't wish to answer so many questions like:
"How/Why this happened?"
- I also don't know how it happens. Like, if I knew this would happen, don't you think we would had been ready at the corner to pounce on the culprit?
"Who's there at that time?" "Where is so and so?" "Why didn't they keep alert?"
- I don't want to blame whoever was there. Imagine your house was broken in, and there is you and your family in there. So who you want to blame on? Your self or your family that was sleeping without noticing the thief went in?
"Didn't you do this/that?"
- What if all the measures were taken but it still happen? Perhaps it was to ourselves to blame for some certain things that were overlooked and confidence that this won't happen. But I sure don't need anyone to add that to my brains over the loss that we had to cover, and not to mention to do several other things rather than think what to tell you.
Or how about in funerals...now here's where the ignorance most likely to show...
I often observed this, that whenever one attended the funeral they would ask something like "How can this happen ah?" Hello....the family already had enough coping with the loss of their love ones, and you busy asking for details how the deceased drew their final breath. Can't you just wait for a proper time?
Whatever it is, people...it's okay to offer help whenever you can. It's okay to show your concern, but keep the questions minimal.
When you can't say something nice, shut up.
Think about it.

Facebook. Ask your colleague, even the boss has one. At home, mom, dad and kids each has one. Be it ranting, sharing something interesting or just keeping in touch with friends and loved ones. Most people into Facebook nowadays.
Check out if you fall into one of these...seriously...you might be addicted to Facebook! I know that I am (in some categories below) ! =p
1. You check your Facebook page before having your first cup of coffee or even before going to the bathroom in the morning.
2. Stopping before you leave the house to inform everyone that you are about to leave the house. (I know some of you in my list does this...don't deny it!!! =p)
3. You are spending more time changing your status update than actually doing anything worth commenting on.
4. You start using Facebook as a verb. As in "I'm going to "Facebook" so and so or I was "Facebooking" last night.
5. If you interrupt an actual conversation that you are having with a person and tell them "you know what, why don't I just "Facebook" you later..."
6. Every time you take a picture you wonder if it is going to be Facebook worthy. (Which explains why I got lots of Photo Albums in it =p)
7. You leave a party early because you can't wait to get all of the pictures you just took up on the computer and tagged.
8. You are unsure whether you are actually "in" a relationship until the other person makes it Facebook official in the Relationship Status section.
9. You feel you might need therapy because someone you barely knew 20 years ago won't accept you as a friend.
10. You get mortally offended if no one responds to the clever quote it took you 20 minutes to come up with.
11. You wonder how you could have possibly wronged a person who is on a mutual friend's page but not on yours. Such as "What did I ever do to them that they don't want to be my friend too?"
12. You purposely try to recruit people you do not even know to up your "friends count" (I know I am not...hopefully you aren't either =p).
13. You actually click the Wall To Wall on other peoples' pages because you absolutely have to know the entire conversation they were having.
14. You want to throw something at the computer when you can't find the original question that was asked that elicited an interesting response from someone.
15. You are looking forward to your birthday for the first time in years because you want to see how many wall posts you will get that day. Which then leads to....
16. Getting angry at people who didn't wish you a Happy Birthday because "C'mon...it's on Facebook!...There is no excuse for forgetting!"
17. Instead of looking forward to your vacation, you are more worried about what you are going to miss on your computer while you are gone. Which then leads to....
18. Completely changing your cell phone plan and your cell phone because your current one doesn't have access to Facebook. (nah....kannnnn.... hahahaha)
19. You have to pretend you don't know someone when meeting them for the first time, yet you know their deepest, darkest secrets thanks to a mutual friends' pages.
20. You only check your email to see if you have an update on Facebook.
21. You get insane if your friend number drops and you go crazy trying to figure out who deleted you.
22. Facebook wall looks like it is covered with graffiti because you have so many applications on it.
23. Your usual bedtime is now two hours later than it has been in years.
24. As soon as you meet someone the first thing you do is go home and "Facebook" them.
25. You start losing huge chunks of time and wonder where on Earth the day went.
26. Your house is getting messier as the weeks go by and you have no clean laundry.
27. You are one of the few people who uses the Facebook chat option.
28. You can't stop nagging other reasonable people to join Facebook. Like teenage peer pressure, it's o.k. for you to do it as long as others are doing it as well.
29. You pretend that you are doing some really exciting things so others will find you interesting enough to want to be your friend too.
30. You are actually reading this and wondering if any of these applies to you!! *LOL* ^^
Happy Facebooking everyone!!! =p
Ollie went missing.
I am worried...because he was the weakest one among the 3. With the slightest drop of temperature he would caught flu and sneezing non stop for almost 2 weeks. Despite with that constant running nose, Ollie still grew up, hyper and jump around, sleeps whenever he wants and eats...though not as plump as Salem, but he still look healthy as any growing up cats does.
Plus, Ollie is good natured and mingles easily with people...hopefully some good people would treat him nice (until I found him) but what if he accidentally bump into some wild dogs outside? Or he went into some anti-cats/animal people and got killed?
Also..Ollie is not the type of cat that loves going out often. Normally he would go out and do his business, returned home shortly after and dozed off on top of the cabinet after I normally would pick him up from the dust pan where he usually love to sleep. I went out the whole day yesterday and only returned quite late, thought he was sleeping somewhere, perhaps in my sister's room. I still saw him yesterday morning, staring at me when I getting ready to go out.
I can't forget the way he looks at me when I patted his head, stroked his body, sometimes give him a gentle hug before leaving everywhere I went these past few weeks...I knew I had been a bad owner to him lately. He seemed look quite 'upset' when I waved at him when he was looking at me leaving the house from the window. Even he dislikes seeing my luggage bag!
Ollie Boy....please come home..... =(
Scene 1
I was enjoying my favorite CSI show on AXN when this unknown number called.
Caller: "Hi!"
AngeLBeaR: "Yeah, hi."
Caller: "Is this AngeLBeaR?"
AngeLBeaR: "Yeah, who's this?"
Caller: "My name is Alex, I am your ex-bf, Ezra's friend." (I had broken up with him for like, almost 5 years ago, if I got that right.)
AngeLBeaR: "Oh I see. So?"
Caller: "He gave me your number and said that I can ask you out."
AngeLBeaR: "WTF?"
Caller: (Laughs) "It wasn't that you are not used to 'it' right?"
AngeLBeaR: "Well, then, Mr. Alex whatever your name is. Now better get 'used' to this. Stop calling me, don't ever dreamed of ever asking me out cause I won't go out with stupid *beep* idiot like you that thinks we ladies can be passed on anytime, anywhere you guys like. Get a life or just look for a hooker lah!!!!! You stupid *beep* !!!!!"
Note: I purposely published their real names. No need to protect these idiot's privacy.
Scene 2
A lady friend of mine told me that she was pissed that recently a guy called her up, saying that another guy friend gave him her number. He casually asked her out to 'check in', you know very well what's that term's for. She declined, and he called her a b*tch for declining him. Being the reasons:
1 - She is not interested at all for casual sex.
2 - He was actually a married man!
So happened to men nowadays? Being a pimp for free is it? Who do you take us women for? Someone cheap and easy to get laid with? Get a life you losers...have some respect to us ladies!
Welcome to the family!
So...gear up everyone! ^^
Owh well...4 days and 3 nights of enduring my patience for unable to log into internet, sleeping in the quietness of the place with the sound of the river, rain and shine that alternates between the days, I guess I am doing just fine. Here's my conclusion:
Date: 28th November 2009 - 1st December 2009
Overall comments:
1. Most participants still need to learn and practice more. Some dozed off the first 15 minutes minutes my class started..I guess I am quite a boring speaker huh....
2. Dealing with some participants who were skeptical of my qualifications, experience and credibility. Not that it bothers me that much, really. I always got that from other people before this. So, whether you believe, accept on what I had shared with you guys or not...it doesn't matter cause I already completed my job. The rest is up to you.
3. Field session was fun. Got to see who were actually sleeping during my talks, lots of crazy, hillarious antiques that I never thought would be seen.
4. Frankly speaking, I am expecting a 'younger' generation of teachers/trainers to attend the course, because they are supposed to be much more suitable to introduce and develop this sport to the students effectively, in terms of understanding and they will be doing it for quite a long time, perhaps will become paintballers or referee themselves. However, most of them is those whom I consider 'not suitable' as I discovered that 90% of them attended the course so they could play paintball for free instead of getting to the real message why the course is conducted.
5. Some of them were actually a bit intimidated by my presence just because they had attended the almost similar clinic sometime ago. Arrogant, know-it-all people that wanted to be superior shown the ugly side of them. No place for such person in the field, mate! At the first place, why let these people who had attended the course earlier re-attend it again? They should have given those who unable to attend the previous course to get this chance to learn something.
6. Copying other's answers for the paper. You should practice what you preach at school. Sheesh.
7. The paper...the reason I made it is to know how much you understand what I had shared with you people out there. But copying it straight word by word from the notes given doesn't count as 'understand'. I want a real, genuine human, not a photocopy machine.
8. However, I still think some of them will be a good ref, giving the chance to do so.
