How many of people out there meant what they say?

Maybe you were wondering what happened to AngeLBeaR after her food posts, suddenly she switched to some 'emotional' post here...LOL....

If you still wondering why...check out this video below and listen to every single word:

Chris Medina & Juliana Ramos' story inspired Rodney Jerkins to write this song.  Their love story almost like a fairy tale until she had an accident in 2009, 2 months shy from their wedding day that gave this couple the hardest trial they had to go through till now.  She suffered severe skull fracture, traumatic brain injury, multiple fractures to her beautiful face and partially paralyzed.  Chris is no longer her fiancée, he was her primary caretaker, and together with Juliana's family they arranged, planned and attended the daily treatments for her. It was not easy, nor inexpensive either.

Note:  Chris Medina is one of the hopeful American Idol contestants but failed to get into the next round (which caused J-Lo a tearful moment when she had to announced it to him that he was eliminated).

Now, what I learnt from this story...is that not many people will choose this road where Chris has chosen.  Many won't blame him if he choose not to take this responsibility, or leave in search for a better, smooth life ahead for himself.  Most might tell him that he has a life to go on his own, rather than let everything passes him by for something that is uncertain. But I guess, Juliana is his life.  God sent Juliana an angel in disguise of a man named Chris.

So...how many of us actually willing to do what we exactly said?
When we say "I love you." to that special someone, does it meant we love them for that moment, because of the good things they given or did to us?
When we say "I'll always be with you" does it mean only for the good times at that moment?
When we say "I care for you." does it including when they are down, sick or in trouble?
When we say "I'll be there for you" does it includes when they need someone the most?

I leave this chorus of the song for you to think about:

What are words if you really don't mean them when you say them?
What are words if they're only for good times then they don't?
When it's love, yeah you say them out loud
Those words they never go away, they lived on,
Even when we're gone...

The story of Chris and Juliana is a good example of crossing the selfishness, self-sacrifice and devotion so that the other can still lived on; through good and bad times together.  Chris represents a group of people who believe that with love, nothing is impossible.

Why don't we start to tell everyone around us...that we love them...we care for them and really meant what we say?  Look around us...we might overlooked that someone we left behind because of our own selfishness and still hoping, wondering if you realised that the people we left actually meant what they say.

Don't wait.  Don't say 'later' because...maybe it will be the last time we ever had the chance to do or say so.

Many a medical assistant have seen it every day.  Perhaps part of a patient care technician's certification could include encouragement to families to do this.
If you missed this fest, you missed a whole lot of experience that you can't get everyday! Did I mention that the musical performance only starts when the sun goes down?  Imagine this:  sitting on the ground, enjoying your favorite food and drinks, watching a live music performance as the sun goes down, until the moon appears on the sky.  Occasionally, there's fireflies fluttering slowly and the cool breeze from the sea added the mood to the evening, sync with the beautiful music echoed, far from the busy city.  For just couple of hours, there's just you, the nature and music.

Anyway, on 16 July 2011 (Saturday), we arrived quite late due to the rain and road conditions in the midst of our journey that slowed us down.  Luckily, the weather is fine and fair when we arrived at 5:30pm.  I am excited when the first thing that I saw as I hopped down from the coach, there was a row of men and women, donned in their beautiful Rungus traditional costume lined up.  Tom went to look for Pamela of Sabah Tourism and returned shortly with our pass.

We're given a media pass, along with brochure of the event for 2 days and some information of the performers for this fest for our reference, all packed in a beautiful paper folder.  ^_^V

There aren't many stalls around (which I realised I forgot to take photo of it, because soon as I got my pass, I rushed to take photos of the lovely people with the beautiful traditional costume) - was kinda disappointed that there's no one selling roasted sweetcorn *sigh*.  Okay, I spotted there are rows of people selling it while on the way to Kudat, and was drooling at the sight of it!  Too bad the shuttle didn't stop there...uhuhuhu....apart from snacks, ice cream (Vedablu opened their booth), some Hoko products, drinks and souvenirs...that's was just about it...

Sorry if it's too small for you to see....just click on the photo for a better view ya...
These men and women wearing Rungus traditional costume.  I can't tell you how excited I am when I saw them and observing the details of their attire!

Also present, YB Datuk Masidi Manjun,
Minister of Tourism, Culture & Environment Sabah.

The crowd is waiting patiently....however on 17th, the crowd seems to be less than the day before.  Maybe because it's Sunday so most people had to go to work.

On the first day, this petite young lady started the evening with her numbers:

Dayang Noraini.  She's the best performer and champion for the 1998's talent show 'Sinaran Passport Kegemilangan' hosted by TV3.

...serenaded by the Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra as the sun setting down...
These young people are so talented!

Imagine that...the sound echoes...as the sun goes down...

I think the highlight of the fest will be this group called N'jami from Japan.
They are one of the performers of Sing Out Asia, been performing for several places where their proceeds goes to those in need.  They speak very little English...but it's just a small matter compare with their talent, good performances and powerful vocals!

You be the judge....

This cute singer is Art Thomya, from Thailand.

the beautiful Imel from Indonesia

Julianne from Philippines

Kinabalu Merdu Bamboo Orchestra

Marylleynney Fane Paul, the 2nd runner up for the 2011 Sugandoi (singing) competition.

Ms. Lala from Indonesia...she reminded me of the singer Michelle Branch.

Amir Yussof, a no stranger to the local entertainment industry.

Personally, I love this shot...

Fred Feraddy A. Okuling, the winner of the 2011 Sugandoi competition.

Marco from Indonesia.

Yoshiro Maehama from Japan, a talented guitarist.

Another musician from Indonesia...I forgot his name *blush*

ah well...the performers that I didn't get to take photo or watch is by Roger Wang and friends, also the supposedly there's a pocket show by the Misompuru Homestay Cultural Group on the first day.  Reason?  Me, Tom and Charlotte went to the only available restaurant there, waited for more an hour for our food, only to get our ordered getting sent to the other table and they sent different food to ours!

Plus...the lady who supposedly operating the restaurant almost over-charged me, not even apologizing for being late, and for the price 'error' (2 cokes + 1 fried rice, she told me it's RM13.70.  Then when I handed over RM15 to her, she told me it's RM17!  Charlotte immediately grabbed the calculator on the counter and wanted to start calculating, the lady immediately took RM10 from my hand and left me with the RM5 note, no sorry, nothing.  I can't sleep the whole night and kept on thinking about it and something came to my senses...the coke was supposed to be RM2 per can and the fried rice is about RM6-RM7 per plate.  By right it was RM4 + RM7 (the most) = RM11!  So even if she charged me RM13.70 that night, I will still be over charged!)...Okay, so you suddenly have a lot of people coming in, but please at least give your customer a menu, not after we been calling for it for 4 times!  And it's just not us...there are many other customers who are frustrated, one man almost had an argument with the lady who manned the counter (I presume she might be the owner); hungry foreigners too!  It's not a good impression to the local and over seas visitors.  *sigh*

Someone asked me how is this festival going comparing to the Rainforest World Music Festival I went the weekend before.  It's unfair to compare these 2 events, really.  Overall, the 2 days fest is good, except the staging area is quite 'packed' on the first day to accommodate the orchestra, and if there is a next year for me, I don't want to visit the restaurant, ever!  Also, maybe there will be more food stalls opened?  At least the locals can earn a little extra, and we don't have to rely on to the mercy of the lousy operator to feed us.  I am sure many will agree on this.

Again, my special thanks goes to Sabah Tourism for the opportunity given to me to the fest, Tom Rungitom from Borneocolours for recommending my blog, also to the staff and management of Tropical Holiday Paradise for their kind hospitality, and getting us to and fro KK-Kudat safe and sound (if you plan to visit Sabah, I really recommend them!).

Till then, see you in the next event!

Note:  Thousand apologies for my delayed post.  Had lots of issues going on with my work.
"....biru-biru hujung Kinabalu, tengok dari jauh hati saya rindu..."

Kids love it. Adults sing it. The song echoes here and there with its simple lyrics and catchy tune. Today, it's only one of the most valueable treasure left by the late Kimin Mudin to the Sabahans. He died due to heart ailment on 2nd June 2010 due to heart ailment at 46. He leaves behind his wife and 7 children.

Rest in Peace, Kimin Mudin. You will always be greatly remembered.

I found this video in YouTube by chance. Heard this song over and over again, but I guess so far, I prefer Hope for Haiti - Justin Timberlake's rendition of 'Halleluyah' (you can also find this song in Shrek OST. This song is originally written by Leonard Cohen). (Please pause my media player at the right first before playing this video, thanks)

I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well, it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well, your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well, baby, I've been here before.
I've seen this room, and I've walked this floor.
I used to live alone before I knew you.
But I've seen your flag on the marble arch,
And love is not a victory march,
It's a cold and it is a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well, there was a time when you'd let me know
What's really going on below,
But now you never show that to me, do you?
But remember when I moved in you,
And the Holy Ghost was moving too,
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well, maybe there is a God above,
But all that I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you.
It's not a cry that you hear at night,
And it is not somebody who has seen the light
It's a cold and it is a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Hallelujah

Hallelujah...
I feel uninspired and somewhat down lately. So as I was browsing through Youtube to find songs to put in my current play list, I found this song, entitled 'Still' by Hillsong. A song of hope, and courage.

"When the ocean's rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm..."

Hope this will give you hope as well. God Bless.

I found this nice song in YouTube, but it's in Hakka. Don't know how to pronounce the title in Hakka =p In Mandarin it supposed to be "Hai Bian Kan Fei Ji". It was composed and sung by a Sabahan. Didn't really know the real name of the singer but I was told that there is a CD released. Unlike most Hakka songs that I found in YouTube that mostly..well..uh...oldies, this singer managed to give a fresh change and really suits to the taste of most people. I heard it was almost a mix of Jay Chou - Richie Ren style in his music (correct me if I am wrong). Well, feel free to listen. For those who didn't understand Hakka, I am doing my best to translate it (to the nearest meaning of the lines, because my Hakka is elementary also...hahahaa...so please help me correct the mistakes) below the clip. Enjoy!

Alone in Tanjung Aru,
Saw lots of dating couples,
sharing one coconut with 2 straws,
Eating pickled fruits.

I remember the day you told me,
You had decided to England with him,
finally you got the chance to go skiing with him,
and can see how the moon light was in oversea.

Actually there are lots of things I wanted to tell you,
I kept it inside and it's hard to said it out,
20 years has gone by and I still haven't tell you,
Every nights passes by,
I only said it in my sleep!

I really love you,
Can you please don't go to America?
I really love you,
Can you please don't go with him?

If you really wish to travel by plane,
Why don't I bring you to somewhere near,
In the newspaper ads they advertised zero-priced airline tickets,
Two airlines were competing each other;

Penang, Johor, Kuala Lumpur,
You just name it and I will go online,
If really want it please make it fast or it will be finished,
Zero-priced tickets sold out, I will be done for.

Actually there are lots of things I wanted to tell you,
Kota Kinabalu is a good place to stay,
Since the past years, the foreigners keep coming,
Mountain climbing, island hopping,
To the 3rd Beach enjoying the moon light.

I really love you,
can you please don't go to America?
I really love you,
Concerned that when you are sleeping it's cold and you
don't have a blanket to cover;
I still really love you,
In America you can't eat KK's famous Sang Nyuk Mee,
I really love you,
It's best if you don't leave Kota Kinabalu~

Because if you are not beside me...
I will die.

Alone at the beach,
looking at the airplane took off to the sky...
Alone at the beach,
looking at the airplane getting further and further away...
Love him, hate him, idolize him. Stories of his childhood years, scandals...his marriage, his children. He married the rock n roll royalty, dated one of the big stars, his life is a complete mystery and controversial. But now...he was no more. Died at age 50 in Los Angeles, the King of Pop, was dethroned. Rest In Peace, Michael Jackson. You will always be remembered by your fans.

Here is one of my most favorite song of his:

I was browsing for some ideas for my brother's coming wedding when I come across this website. If you are a Catholic and plans to get married someday, this website might gives you a little light on some of the common questions to the common problems that a couple face before planning a marriage. For instance:

Can we have our wedding someplace other than a church building?

In most cases, Catholics are required to be married in a Catholic church building (see Canon 1118). There are some exceptions. When a Catholic marries someone who is not Catholic, the Catholic party may request permission from the local bishop to celebrate the wedding at the other person's place of worship. Because Church law states that a wedding may be held in "some other suitable place" besides a Catholic church, it is technically possible that the local bishop might allow outdoor weddings, but few do.

No one would argue against the beauty of a natural setting; after all, creation reveals the presence of the Creator in a powerful way. But Catholics remember that Jesus Christ promised to continue to be present whenever his friends gathered in his name. The church building is the "house" in which the followers of Jesus do this on a regular basis to celebrate weddings and funerals and baptisms and confirmations and reconciliations and anointings of the sick—in short, all the most important events of their lives. For Catholics, it makes sense to begin a new household in this sacred house. Doing so symbolizes the new family's connection with the wider community of believers—not only those present at the wedding, but also all the parishioners who gather in that space, and ultimately, the universal Church.

Feel free to visit the website here: http://www.catholicweddinghelp.com/

It's just a basic guide. You can always consult to the priest at your local church for advice as well. Oh, I posted this beautiful wedding song by Ashley Reynolds titled 'On This Day'. Have a nice day! =)

I am still selecting the perfect wedding song to the coming big day. I am thinking to use Darla Day's song "Love of My Life" but there are so many choices around! Any suggestion for good song for the Big Day? Please share with me ya! ^^

"LOVE OF MY LIFE (THE WEDDING SONG)"

words by Darla Day
music by Mark Phillips
duet sung by Darla & Chad Day

I love you, the love of my life
I need you, our love is right
I've found the one that my soul loves
No other love means so much

I prayed to my God for a heart to keep
He gave me the one, He knew my needs
Over and over this love is sweet
I recognize the joy that makes our love complete
God gave you to me

You're the one I prayed for long ago
Fearless trust I never thought I'd know
I've found the answer to my dreams
My eyes were opened to love's mystery

I prayed to my God for a heart to keep
He gave me the one, He knew my needs
Over and over this love is sweet
I recognize the joy that makes our love complete
God gave you to me

The love of my life...

I love you, the love of my life
I need you, our love is right
I've found the one that my soul loves
No other heart gives so much
God gave you to me

You're the one I love
You are the love of my life...
Gallivanter recommended this song for March...hrm...I love this one..I purposely put 2 different versions here. But then I love this female version (was told it was Jordin Spark's demo) =D Enjoy!

I can feel the raindrops
slowly falling
and they calling for
they keep calling for
my knight in shining armour
come and save me
cause im drowning in pain

ive been hurt
by his mistakes
so come and take me away
i put him first
i thought he'd stay
but he couldn't weather the storm
so he left me the rain

over time, pictures fade
all thats left are these empty frames
sleepless nights, and stormy days
i've got proof that people change
and all thats left are these empty frames
all thats left are these empty...

can you hear these teardrops
in my pillow?
they keep falling cause
i kept falling for your dozen thorny roses
now im bleeding
and im lonely again

now im hurt
it's my mistake
i should have known right away
i put him first
i thought he'd stay
but he couldn't weather the storm
so he left me the rain

over time, pictures fade
all thats left are these empty frames
sleepless nights, and stormy days
i've got proof that people change
long after the smiles all fade away
all this endless pain
all this empty space

sleepless nights, and stormy days
i've got proof that people change
over time, pictures fade
and all thats left are these empty frames

over time, pictures fade
all thats left are these empty frames
sleepless nights, and stormy days
all thats left are these empty...

over time, pictures fade
and all thats left are these empty frames
sleepless nights, and stormy days
i've got proof that people change

all thats left are these empty frames

Now this will be the last time you did me wrong
No more laying up in your arms
No calling, saying you want me back
I'm packing my bags, what you think about that?

I stayed at home like a good girl do
But tonight baby you got me sad and blue
I just heard about the girl in your car, yall kissing at the bar
Got me crying

[Chorus:]
Oh, you got me hatin' on the club
'Cause you took my love
Oh you took my love
Now you got me like whoahhh(why..)
You got me hatin' on the club(why..)
You took my love(why..)
Why'd you have to take my love(why..)
Whoahh...

And you can be mad at me all you want
I ain't coming in, I'll be waiting out front
Coming out the door with your girlfriend
You did me wrong boy tell me where our love went

I stayed at home like a good girl do
But tonight baby you got me sad and blue
I just heard about the girl in your car, yall kissing at the bar
Got me crying

[Chorus:]
Oh, you got me hatin' on the club
'Cause you took my love
Oh you took my love
Now you got me like whoahhh(why..)
You got me hatin' on the club(why..)
You took my love(why..)
Why'd you have to take my love(why..)
Whoahh...

Now this is the sound of a broken heart
There's only one reason why we're apart
She never woulda made it to your car
If it wasn't for the club,I'd still have my love(I'd still have my love)
We would still have us(We would still have us)
I'd still have my love(I'd still have my love)
We would still have us

But now we're like whoah

Oh, you got me hatin' on the club
You took my love
Oh you took my love

You got her hatin
Boy you got her hatin on the (A)
You got her hatin
Boy you got her hatin on the (A)
You got her hatin
Boy you got her hatin on the club, club, club, club
*This song was the first song in my Playlist. Enjoy!

I went inside. I was not myself
I was frozen inside an alien form
You stand aside
Your hand on my shoulder
But the smoke makes a veil between us

I walk the walk alone no matter whether people know at all
I walk the walk alone to keep my sanity
You know that when I walk the walk alone
I go where no one else can go
I watch you cry for me
you see but I don’t see
Because you walk the walk alone
Thank you for loving me.

Drowning within
Go on, I’m listening
Music to tear you to pieces
You close your eyes
And cry as your’re playing
But I sense nothing
So reason on this

I walk the walk alone no matter whether people know at all
I walk the walk alone to keep my sanity
You know that when I walk the walk alone
I go where no one else can go
I watch you cry for me
You see but I don’t see
Because you walk the walk alone
Thank you for letting me -

Walk the walk alone no matter whether people know at all
I walk the walk alone to keep my sanity
You know that when I walk the walk alone
I go where no one else can go
I watch you cry for me
You see but I don’t see
Because you walk the walk alone
Thank you for loving me.
Thank you Casper for giving me this song. Hope you all love it as much as I do.

Off course....another Ciara's song.

Young Jeezy & Pow La Don

Throw yo' hands up in the air
If ya know he love ya
Tell the DJ play this song right here
If ya know he love ya
Let, let, let, let me see you 2-step
If ya know he love ya
It don't matter if you by yourself
If ya know he love ya

Ciara

If that boy don't love you by now
He will never ever, never ever love you
He will never ever, never ever love you
If that boy don't love you by now
He will never ever, never ever love you
He will never ever, never ever love you

I know you think that I just be trippin' on ya
Boy you see, this ain't how I normally be
But I can't help this jealousy
Ooh it's taking over me, ooh I'm falling way to deep
Without you by my side I feel like I can't eat or sleep

But I, got to come down to earth, I don't wanna
But I, gotta let you go, but baby I dont wanna
And I, I gotta see, that you and me, ain't meant to be
That's why I tell myself

If that boy don't love you by now
He will never ever, never ever love you
He will never ever, never ever love you
If that boy don't love you by now
He will never ever, never ever love you
He will never ever, never ever love you

Baby, I can't help but fantasize
Wondering what it might be like
You and I sound so right
But I'mma let it go tonight, it ain't nothin'
Coverin' my eyes
Ain't gonna see it more than twice
I get it, I got it
Baby, baby

But I, got to come down to earth, I don't wanna
But I, gotta let you go, but baby I dont wanna
And I, I gotta see, that you and me, ain't meant to be
That's why I tell myself

If that boy don't love you by now
He will never ever, never ever love you
He will never ever, never ever love you
If that boy don't love you by now
He will never ever, never ever love you
He will never ever, never ever love you

Young Jeezy

Alright, alright, alright, okay...

808's & hearbreak, states who puts in ???interstates????
Giving me a bad vibe, guess I'm just a bad guy

Throw yo' hands up in the air
If ya know he love ya
Tell the DJ play this song right here
If ya know he love ya
Let, let, let, let me see you 2-step
If ya know he love ya
It don't matter if you by yourself
If ya know he love ya
Well..since Valentine is just around the corner, as you guys realised that my playlist in lovey-dovey mood too, hehehehe....So here's another of my favorite love song that I wanted to share.

Note: It's also a theme song for the 1996 movie 'The Mirror Has Two Faces' starring Babra Streisand and Jeff Bridges.

I Finally Found Someone - Bryan Adams & Barbara Streisand

Bryan: I finally found someone, who knocks me off my feet;
Bryan: I finally found the one who makes me feel complete...
Barbara: It started over coffee, we started out as friends;
Barbara: It's funny how from simple things; the best things begin...
Bryan: This time is different;
Barbara: la la la la
Bryan: It's all because of you!..
Bryan: It's better than it's ever been;
Together: Cuz we can talk it through;
Barbara: My favorite line was 'Can I call you sometime?';
Barbara: It's all you had to say...
Together: To take my breath away...

Together: This is it!
Together: Oh, I finally found someone; Someone to share my life;
Together: I finally found the one - to be with every night;
Barbara: Cause whatever I do
Bryan: It's just got to be you!
Together: My life has just begun, I finally found someone...

Bryan: Did I keep you waiting?
Barbara: I didn't mind
Bryan: I apologize
Barbara: Baby, that's fine
Bryan: I would wait forever
Together: Just to know you were mine;
Bryan: Ya Know - I love your hair...
Barbara: Are you sure it looks right?
Bryan: I love what you wear...
Barbara: Isn't it too tight?
Bryan: You're exceptional!
Together: I can't wait for the rest of my life...

Together: Oh This Is It!
Together: I finally found someone; Someone to share my life,
Together: I finally found the one; to be with every night...
Barbara: Cause whatever I do
Bryan: It's just got to be you
Together: My life has just begun; I finally found someone...
Barbara: And whatever I do.
Bryan: It's just got to be you!
Barbara: My life has just begun...
Together: I finally found someone...
This is a Tagalog version of 'My Valentine' by Rosselle Nava. (Original song was by Jim Brickman & Martina Mcbride). Enjoy!

MY VALENTiNE (TAGALOG VERSiON) - ROSELLE NAVA

mga salitang di mabigkas ng iyong labi
mga sulyap mo na nagsasabi na mahal mo ako
mula noon pa man hanggang ngayon ikaw lang aking iniibig
huwag na huwag ka sanang magbabago sakin
tanging ikaw lamang sa puso ko

ako'y nabigla ng magtapat ka ng pag-ibig mo
ikaw lang ang syang nagbibigay ng ligaya sa puso ko
mula noon pa man hanggang ngayon ikaw lang aking iniibig
huwag na huwag ka sanang magbabago sakin
tanging ikaw lamang sa puso ko

la la la la la....

mula noon pa man hanggang ngayon ikaw lang aking iniibig
huwag na huwag ka sanang magbabago sakin
tanging ikaw lamang sa puso ko...ohh
tanging ikaw lamang sa puso ko....
I found this song in Youtube. I found the lyrics are inspiring, tune is catchy too - specially dedicate to everyone out there. Enjoy! ^_^V

It's been raining today, I was soaking wet while inside the paintball field while everyone is shooting away. Reminded me of this song...hope that it inspires you all like it did to me. =) Enjoy!
