Finally...the last day of 2011.  Everyone's been recapping what they had done for the past months of 2011.  Overall, I can describe 2011 is the year filled of loses and gains.  Both the happiest and yet, the saddest part of my life engraved for 2011 tombstone, and guess what...looking back, it wasn't as bad as I thought.

I travelled...visiting places I had been and never been....saw interesting things...and discover new people...

Meeting and spending time with friends, building new friendships as I go along....

Of course...Paintball....

Food.....(this is a must!)..just to list down a few...hehhee...

How much my life has changed from the beginning of the year till now?

I would say...a lot.  =)

All the experiences, travel to places gives a new experiences each time, thru my eyes, captured thru my little camera...friendships I gained...each morsel of food I tasted...it is always something new and unforgettable.

I am thankful for things that I lost, for it remind me that nothing is permanent and constant in this world.

I am thankful for all things that hurt me, for I discover that I still able to forgive and move on, that's a sign of strength.

I am thankful that I still had the opportunity to go places where some people can only dream and wished they could.

I am thankful for trials come my way, for it was a journey of self discovery, to discover my strength and my weaknesses, and not to let it happen again.

I am thankful for the friendships strengthened, for I knew that they are worth to keep.

I am thankful for the friendships I had all along, for I knew that till now, they still with me, for who I am.

I am thankful for the new friendships I made, for it made my life more colorful.

I am thankful for my family...for they worth more than gold.

I am thankful for things I still have, while the rest has scattered into pieces, it doesn't matter.  I learn to appreciate what I had in my hands now.

Thank you for everything 2011.  For the tears, laughter and hopes.  For shaping me into who I am today.

For everyone...for everything.  Thank you so much.  Much love.

Here's to say, Farewell 2011...and Hello 2012!!!! <3

Last night, I went to see the same gang that went to the previous Brunei trip with me to see a Bruneian friend who will be here for quite sometime for holiday...none other than the almost-celebrity food blogger of Brunei, Thanis Lim!  Well..partly it's for his cookies that he baked lah...hahahaha...anyway, after some chit chat moments in Secret Recipe Warisan Square, he said he wanted to have supper at Kalamatas in Api-Api Centre, a new place that is just recently opened.

So...Dinoza was already tired by then, and here's 4 of us - Wendy, Tom, Thanis and me headed towards the said place.  (Yes, I know that you readers seldom heard I am blogging about supper here, but with Thanis along, please keep that weighing scale away from me until he returns back to his country!  Hehehehe...)

It was almost empty, particularly because it's already late at night and it's Monday, and also it's a newly opened place, so it's not a wonder that not many people knew about this place, yet.  But I kinda like it this way, so we got the place almost entirely for ourselves...and to explore...

Yeah...cat.  There are 2 cats that caught my attention when I arrived at the entrance.  This heavily pregnant cat and another male kitty.  The chef, Mano said that the cats has been with them since they opened the place so the cat has been part of the shop, and they took care of them.  I began to like the place already! (yes, they got an extra point from me because they love cats!) =p

There's a bar with neatly arranged liquor of all sorts...I love this one..Regret that I didn't bring my little cam along. Huhuhuhu....

We don't know what to eat actually...so Thanis asked from Chef Mano to recommend something for us...

Beef Pata - spicy marinated beef.  Not too spicy, just nice if you have it with your favorite drink and had a chat.  I love this one...it has texture like beef jerky.  Somewhat sweet and savory and a hint of spice that came together.  Very well marinated too.

Stuffed squid.  Perfectly cooked, not too rubbery, very fresh and the stuffing consists of capsicum, onions, tomatoes and perhaps some chili due to the little fiery sensation on my mouth when I had a bite.
(Cleffairy gonna kill me for this!)

Jeng~ jeng~ jeng~!!!
Mushroom burger.  Homemade beef patty (look at that size!) with mushrooms, cheese, lots of greens and a heap of french fries.  I only had few bites of these.  The fries are nice, cooked into perfection too.

Tom posing with the burger LOL....well now you can see the size lah!

..and Thanis.  =)

Pose between the meal... =p

Deep fried fish.
Good even eaten on its own.  ^_^V

Mashed potatoes...chef's recommendation.
Not your ordinary mashed potatoes that you usually had in fast food restaurants.
It still has bits of potato chunks in the midst of the creamy potato and gravy, along with some bits of skin.
A perfect comfort food!  =)

...and then...after we finished our meal, Chef Mano had a chat with us and then suggest to let us try one of his chicken dishes...wah....

Spicy chicken...thankfully he asked us what level of 'spiciness' we can tolerate.
We go for 'medium' and it's quite a little spicy but it's so good!  <3

Here we go.... =p

...and they allowed us to pose inside the bar, Hehehee....with our face like that manning the bar, I don't think people would want to come and order a drink!  =p

A photo for remembrance...please ignore the shortest one there...thank you. =.=|||

Anyway, if you wish to come and try out, here's their number and address.
Make reservations if you had to.  They are serving local, Filipino and Western cuisine.  =)

Thank you Chef Mano and the staff of Kalamatas for the good food, great experience and kind hospitality.  Good service too!  I will sure coming back again!!  ^_^V
