Yesterday, after a hearty sushi lunch at Wagamama Asia City (yeah...it's 50% off on all sushi items!) after discussing some matter with a paintball counterpart I went to Kompleks Karamunsing to get the lappy fixed.

While waiting...and waiting...and waiting somemore, the installing new drives and softwares all that is necessary took quite a looooooong time that I even managed to get a manicure, trimmed my eyebrows and get a good foot scrub at the nearby beauty centre, and still, it was not yet done. So I took a stroll going in and out from computer shops to clothing stores and then was about to decide to sit in KFC when I walked pass by a shop known for selling water filters, electric stove thingy, the appointed salesperson stopped me and insisted me to give me a 'free gift' in order to 'support' them (yeah, I seen this lots of times already...berapa kali mo minta 'support' dalam satu tahun =p) so since that fellow insisted, and paksa-paksa..and I got lots of time anyway, I decided to play along and see what these people got to do or say ^^

Okay...they first asked me to sign a receiving gift form...then inside the box where the free gift, nothing fancy and the talkative sales staff and his colleague started to talk nonsense, cracking lame jokes and bodek sana sini with those sweet words that seems like being repeated over and over again to other people like a broken CD, asking where I live lah...this and that..which doesn't even related to free gift giveaway thingy. Then, inside the box where the water bottle supposed to be in it there is a some kind of sealed coupon in which they insisted me to open it.

Now, pay attention here. On the sealed coupon, I spotted some obviously Hari Raya Greetings, and yeah, I even show it to the 2 fellows and they keep on asking me to open it. Here comes the 'funny' (or is it 'fishy'?) part. I opened it, and saw that I was entitled with free 2 items worth RM5k plus. I scanned carefully at all corners and the list of the T & C of getting the items (too good to be true mah...) and yes, it was printed boldly "Buy 1 Promotional item, get free 2 items". Got it?

So the two guys were like 'surprised' when I show the coupon and they were like recite the same lines like programmed robots and told me "Eh, kak...hairan ya, ni Hari Raya punya promotion ni." (Sis, this is kinda funny, it's supposed to be only valid for Hari Raya promotion.) I was like "What the....I just show you the coupon before it was opened and now you 'realised' that it was meant for the recent offer?" Well off course I didn't said it to them and still wanna see how they wanted to jump around the bush. The two fellows act 'blur' in which to me it didn't convince me at all, and by 'coincidence' when one of them said wanted to call 'boss' and ask about the coupon matter, the so called 'boss' pandai call pulak one of the guys! Huahahaha...coincidence eh?

Then the guy talk to the boss, said that this lady got this coupon but it was for Raya promotion, bla bla bla...and even asked me to talk to the 'boss' cause 5k worth of items wor....the so called 'boss' tak percaya...and I spoke to this lady...didn't sound like a 'boss' to me since she asked for the code printed on the coupon, and she didn't sound surprised at all. Just by mere a minute she just say "owh, yes...the code is valid and congratulations, you are entitled for the free items!" So, I immediately snapped at her, "Is it? What's the catch? I got a feeling that this is not as easy as getting free items away from your store without having to give you guys a favor or something." and guess what she replied to me? She said "Owh, nothing, we just want you to get the items and introduce us to your friends." Hahahahahahhaa....~~~~~~~~

Then she requested to talk to the staff and after a brief talk, he hung up and turned at me and said "Tahnniah, Kak, sebenarnya cuma ada 10 saja kupon ni dan kakak antara orang bertuah dapat barangan ni kak!" (Congratulations, sis! Actually there are only 10 coupons printed for these and you are one of the lucky ones to have it!). I told him back "Apa barang free, sama juga mau sa beli barang baru dapat!" (What free items? It's still the same when I still had to buy something in order to get it!)

After still insist on jumping around the bushes trying to convince me that those items are free, finally they fell on my bait when one of them remarked, "Bukan mau bayar sekarang juga kak, kakak ambil hari ni, bulan depan baru kakak boleh start bayar." (You don't have to pay now, Sis. You can take the item today, and start paying next month.) Gotcha!

Well, actually I don't blame those 2 young fellows. They had to make a living too. You might think I sound cruel by posting this in my blog today. Well, from the beginning, they had pulled the wrong person, and I did say 'No' before. =p

My point here is...if you are doing sales, please do not recite the same script that seem so obviously a rehearse line. For us consumers out there, remember, there is no such thing as free...so be careful and ask/read the Terms and Conditions before laying our hands on something. Be a smart consumer, be a smart salesperson! ^^

It feels just like yesterday when I knew this wonderful young man who is my college senior. A funny person who loves to humor his friends, someone who loves and talks about his family a lot. Very humble. Can't remember how we get to know each other, and become friends (cause we never stopped squabbling with each other whenever we met! ^^) but I still remember that fateful afternoon I went to see him years ago and he told me his one big decision that will change his life to whom he is today. I am glad that I told him, "Go for it!"

Congratulations, Rev. Fr. Ronnie Alfred Luni for your ordination into priesthood on 25th July 2009. May God Bless you in everything that you do. =)
I am still alive and well. After a series of unfortunate events that happened to both desktop and laptop at home for almost 2 weeks now, yours truly here was 'crippled' with only her handphone as the only remaining device to ensure that I am still stay connected with people out there. =.=

Let's see what I had been through...well...I am supposed to had my good friend, Julian a computer technician to come to the house to take a look at the desktop..and promised him a nice home cook dinner, when he got hit by a car just outside the main junction to my place. Luckily he suffered only minor scratch on his elbow but the bike needs repair. The lady who knocked him down from behind even asked her husband to come and take a look at the bike..and the guy just simply told my friend "Nasib baik bini sa yang langgar..kalau sa yang drive...bukan macam gini saja rupa dia..." (Luckily it was my wife who hit you, else if I am the one who drives it won't be just like this.) Damn...it was his wife whom..among all places knocked my friend down while he was at the correct lane and he just say like that? What kind of attitude is that?

So, can't ask Julian to check the computer..postpone lagi...uhuhuhuh... =(

Last weekend, I was in my late grandfather's house to celebrate a thanksgiving lunch for my brother's recent wedding in August on 17th October (Saturday). Partly it's an opportunity to Tracy to know the relatives and the orang kampung there la...after all, my aunt Winnie said..it was the first wedding celebration celebrated at that house...and I do agree though, it's been quite a while since the house was crowded with happy guests to share the joy.

Got our boys from Splatzone Pro shop, Austen, Sam, Fendi and Dealvin to join along. We gave a mini paintball try out at the rambutan orchard to the guests, and also guests from outstation are having so much fun plucking rambutans and enjoying fresh rambutans from the trees.

Also, I did went to visit my dad's grave on Sunday morning. It's been years now since he was gone. And some of the guests that came on the day before did mention about my dad...deep inside I wish he was still here. Wish he was here among us, laughing and enjoying the happy celebration.

After breakfast and the boys had rambutans as much as they could carry, we went back to KK. Got game at KKPC at 2pm and a meeting to catch on the same evening as well.

As October is approaching to its end (can't wait for the Sabahan Bloggers Gathering on 31st), World Cup Asia 2009 is getting nearer, the heat is here and more activities was already on the schedule for me. No worries, people, the computer will be fixed soon. Then you all won't be missing me that much again...hahaha...

Photos? Will post it when the computer is ready....So had a nice week ahead, take care and keep on blogging!

Mustard plant

There is an old Chinese tale about a woman whose only son died. In her grief, she went to the holy man and asked, "What prayers, what magical incantations do you have to bring my son back to life?"

Instead of sending her away or reasoning with her, he said to her, "Fetch me a mustard seed from a home that has never known sorrow. We will use it to drive the sorrow out of your life." The woman went off at once in search of that magical mustard seed.

She came first to a splendid mansion, knocked at the door, and said, "I am looking for a home that has never known sorrow. Is this such a place? It is very important to me." They told her, "You've certainly come to the wrong place," and began to describe all the tragic things that recently had befallen them.

The woman said to herself, "Who is better able to help these poor, unfortunate people than I, who have had misfortune of my my own?" She stayed to comfort them, then went on in search of a home that had never known sorrow. But wherever she turned, in hotels and in other places, she found one tale after another of sadness and misfortune.
The woman became so involved in helping others cope with their sorrows that she eventually let go of her own. She would later come to understand that it was the quest to find the magical mustard seed that drove away her suffering.

To understand and to let go of our own suffering is to learn and comfort each other.

Have a nice day!
Truth to be told, I feel emotionally drained since the past few days. To those who came for me for advice, I am sorry if you guys think that I am not helping nor my advice to you doesn't seem to be the words of what you want to hear.

1st - I already think of what is the best to tell you in the nicest way, the nicest words I could think of before hit it on your faces with a more harsh, truthful words that I kept inside. I would answer "Yes" "No" instead of giving you a long lecture on how to overcome your problems is because I knew in the end you would only want me to listen instead of wanted to get some advice. You will NEVER follow what I told you, nor do I expected you to follow it anyway. What do you want me to say? Or is it you prefer me to cut you in the middle of the conversation and say "Listen here, you stupid idiot, don't you have any other things to do than bug me now? This simple problem also you don't know how to solve ah?!?" You pick.

2nd - When my answer seems brief, it doesn't mean that I am being insensitive. It means that I want you to think for yourselves what those simple, short answers meant. When I said "You'll be just fine." I meant it. I had my faith in you that you will be just okay if only you didn't waste too much time and energy thinking over it. Okay, want me to be honest? Here's the truth: The so called problem of yours are NOTHING. Means you think too much to make your mind complicated. When I said "You'll be just fine means there is no problem at all." There. Is that what you all want me to tell you?

3rd - I am not married...I am single, had broken relationships before so whatever you husband and wife's problem aren't supposed to be refer to me. Please. Get some married friends to tell you how to cope with it. I don't know why your husband is cranky. I don't know why he doesn't like your cooking. I don't want to hear you complaining how he bugs you with his attitudes that you can't accept because why then you start seeing this and complaining after tying the knot.

Sorry if all of you seems to get 'uninspired' advice from me lately. If you think that I am being selfish and all, it's up to you. If you think I am being mean, heartless person who was insensitive, uncaring friend, then it's okay.

Bear to remind this in your minds - before these, how many times did I asked from you all the same to be returned back to me? Did I ever even bug you and called you all and say "Nothing, I called just because I need someone to talk" without even asking if you are busy or not. Did anyone ever even bother to ask me how is my day before start yapping at me about your so called problems. Did any of you who starts to think me becoming a selfish person ever thinks that if I got my own problems to think of? Some of you didn't even spare 5 minutes for me to pour my heart out.

Sorry if I am being selfish for not able to tell you how pity I am because of you being sad over some certain things that been repeated over and over again;

Sorry if I am being selfish for giving you a simple, short answer instead of the long ones that you prefer to hear to kill your time;

Sorry if I am being selfish because I feel down myself and I can't attend to your bad moods;

Sorry if I am being selfish for not able to tell you things that you wanted to hear only;

Sorry if I am being selfish to spare some time just for me.

Just because I seem strong, doesn't mean that I have no weaknesses.
Just because I smiled outside doesn't mean that my heart never bleeds.
Just because I walked with my heads high doesn't mean I never stumbled and fell.
Just because when I seem not listening doesn't means I never care.

Think about it.
