I love all kinds of food (yeah, you readers already knew it by now).  Grill, fry, steam, bake, boil...you name it.  As long as it is good food - I am all up to it!

Couple days ago, Aunty Meg asked me out for breakfast at Golden Valley Restaurant, Kepayan Ridge (it's just 7 minutes drive from my house).  We ordered this:

Fish Mee Hoon Soup ^_^V

I really love this...there are lots of stuff inside...fish balls, fish cakes, sliced fish...and differently from the normal fish mee hoon that I had in other places, their broth is clear but this stall owner use lots of tomatoes in it that makes the broth has its orange color and more flavorful!
Since my sister returned from her baking class, she been trying to demonstrate what she had learnt at home.  Last week it was her Fruit Cocktail Sponge Cake (forgot to take photo la pulak...) and last night, she made Chocolate Cake (something like that lah...).  As usual, we are the guinea pigs to tried it out before it's allowed to be made 'public' (i.e friends, relatives):

Results from the sweet-toothed AngeLBeaR...

jeng jeng jeng....

Moist...rich....and not too sweet....GOOD (ada la orang kembang hidung ni)! ^_^V

But then again...I'm getting fat chubbier already =.=|||

Uwaaaaa....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =(

Right after we returned from Lanchang it was already dinner time.  Badman and I decided to go to Chop N Steak located in Serdang.  I had been to this place once during my visit to KL for my sister's convocation in UPM somewhere in year 2009.  That time, the food is great, price is considerably cheap for Western food that I vowed that I will return again (yet got no time to do so since then until this time).  How I wished I settled for something else...

I ordered this plate of lamb chop.  Cost RM10++ for 3 pieces of lamb chops, coleslaw, half potato and some baked beans.  Nice looking to some of you?
I don't mind the meat gravy mixed with the baked beans sauce...nor the fact that the potato are a bit small for that price - I wouldn't complain much...except....

Took the first piece of lamb...not bad.  But when I came to the 2nd piece...notice the white stuff on the plate? That's FAT.  Yes, a BIG chunk of FAT on the supposed to be lamb chop.  Since it was covered in gravy, yours truly here had to cut it and peek before putting it in my mouth to ensure I got meat or fat.  80% of the piece of lamb chop is all FAT.  Disappointing. =.=

Then came to the 3rd piece.  One bite and that's it.  Either the meat is not well marinated or it was MUTTON, not lamb.  The smell is so bad that I can't take another bite - so in the end I only finished off the small dollop of coleslaw, baked beans and my little piece of potato.

It's a very disappointing meal, indeed.  I can overlook that the service is a little bit slow, that they placed the canned drink in my glass with the ice that I am supposed to pour to drink...but the outcome from the food is simply...haiz...I can't even put it into words.

One thing for sure, I already 'chop' this branch (I learnt they had 2 other branches, one of it is in Kg. Baru) out from my list to visit.  I wish the other 2 won't be that bad the next time I decided to go for Western food again.
Last December, I was in front of Maybank in Bukit Bintang, waiting for Badman to get his business done while yours truly here, armed only with her little cam with eyes wandering here and there looking for something interesting when I spotted a group of youth, trying to do the "Free Hugs Campaign" there.

There are a number of them with their various sign boards in English, Chinese, Malay...

Hrm...waving a 'Free Hugs' card while pedestrians looked on and walked away.

She didn't look that happy though.....

I look and took photos only from a distance.  Now, I do believe a hug can make any day seem better (depends who hug you lah)....maybe some of you readers might think "Why la you didn't go and hug them AngeLBeaR, to show a little support?"  Okay.....here's the reason (please click the photo to enlarge for a better view):

I'm sorry...it's just....uh....fail. =.=|||

And what saddens me....

A small beggar lady was there all along, in the midst of them...and see how they walked away from her.  My point here...it's useless when you telling people to love one another and to show that you care when the reality is, you neglect those who really in need of hug to let them know that there is...someone cares after all.

Think about it.

AngeLBeaR's Note:

"Free Hugs Campaign" is founded by Juan Mann on 30 June 2004.  It started when during the most difficult time in his life, feeling depressed and lonely, he simply wrote a cardboard that says "FREE HUGS" and waited at the busiest intersection of the city and waited.   Many people walked passed and stares, until a stranger just came up to him and give him a hug - that marks the beginning of what he had inspired so many others to do in different countries.

Many years back, Nasi Lemak (Rice with coconut milk) can only be found for breakfast.  Nowadays, in some places especially big cities like KL or Singapore, nasi lemak is all around the clock.  Off course, apart from the usual rice, companied by fried peanuts and anchovies, egg, a slice or two cucumbers and a generous dollop of the spicy-sweet reddish sambal wrapped together with banana leaves, there are other side dishes to select to your heart's (and not forgetting the wallet too) content.

and so...my trusted guide (and driver - habis la if he read this), Badman bring me to this place:

Nasi Lemak CT Garden in Kampung Baru, KL =)
mind you, the place is quite 'hidden' away (I remember it was opposite a school but don't remember the name of the school because it was already dark) and owh, parking is quite packed when we arrived.  So, food must be good, right?

To order is easy...once you got your table, just go to the counter and grab a tray, heap all your food on it - self service lah....here's what we had:

Deep fried chicken liver and egg for Bad...

Pucuk paku...a little bit overcooked...but still edible =p

Beef rendang.  Love this one.  =)

Sambal kerang (cockles).  One word: "Yummy!" ^_^V

And off course...you can't have it all without this nasi lemak.  Packed rather small in tiny neat packets (sold at RM0.70 each, so what would you expect?) and guess how much I had those?  3 packets!!  =p

This is how it looks like spread on our table...notice the packets of the nasi lemak?  Hehehehe...

Price for the whole loot?  RM18 including drinks.  Not bad huh?  =p and yes....one more place already marked as my 'must go' makan joint if I fly to KL again!
