The trip going up to Kokol Hill is fun. Well, usually it was me got bullied by the 2 brothers but this time, I shared my 'pain' with Leanna, LOL!!! As we drove going up, the place was eerily quiet, cold breeze and only moonlight shone our paths. There are few villages we drove past but still...it's kinda creepy, though.
When we arrived, I saw the rarest view that I had ever seen...well...I had been living in KK for quite sometime now, I seen Mt. Kinabalu basking under the sun, under the moonlight but only at Kundasang area which is nearer...but this one...is...breathtaking!
Can you see the mountain?
I think the white clouds is just like the lost spirit wandering around the mountain...
During the old days where the Dusuns still haven't embrace Christianity or any form of religion, they believed that God, or 'Kinoringan' they called it lives on top of the Mount Kinabalu, and that everyone who died, their souls will go up to the mountain and lives there.
Let's just say, while taking this photo is not quite a pleasant experience. Standing at a very lonely, dark road, with only the moonlight as the light, dogs kept on howling again and again and I am trying to pretend not to hear anything...I do glad that the 2 guys tagged us along.
Yes, there's also a minor (??) incident happened when I switched place and trying to get another angle of the view, I went to the steeper spot of the road (my bad!) and placed the tripod with my cam attached on it. I thought I had made sure that the tripod was placed properly and when I searched through my pocket to get the brush to clean the lens suddenly..CRASH!! My camera dropped on the ground...I was like 'SH*T!!!! M CAMERA!!!' T_T
Checked and so far, it still working, just a little scratch marks, lens is working fine. But I will send it to service and check up sometime around this week to make sure.
Anyway, I think this photo reminded me of this classic number by Carl Orff, "O'Fortuna". A medieval Latin Goliardic poem of 13th Century, that was later set to music by the German composer, Carl Orff. =)
It's been a long but fun night. Thank you Leanna, Koko K and Simon for the fun night! =)
